Anyone else catch it last night? Forgive me for trying to spell the new alien race names.
I enjoyed the action scenes, they were great. Robert Sean Leonard is a fine actor, and his inclusion is welcome--he played a great character, and I'm already wondering what he'll do for new glasses. It's nice to see they actually took the time to consult with him to take down the reactor properly. I'm glad to see the Anti-Mech bullets are back from the first season, as well as Pope and his Berzerker squad--their saloon was a work of art. Weaver's tactics and strategies appear to have improved over time--I just wish he'd take his hat off at staff meetings.
I disliked a bunch. 7 months after the Vaughn land, and we're getting filled in by little side lines here and there, to the point I have to keep going back to the DVR to catch what I missed. It's a repeat of Tom getting taken and coming back 3 months later, and really keeps the audience too much in the dark as well as feeling rushed. The grittiness of managing day-to-day survival is gone. The Ashvani aliens were interesting enough without suddenly making Karen an Overlord--just once I'd like to see a sci-fi series where there are no main antagonists who are human or human in appearance. They could have kept her as a slave/consultant and I would have been fine with it, but an Overlord? The mole plot gave me mixed feelings--I agree subterfuge and espionage is inevitable in any war, but having mosquito-sized spies seems much more threatening in and of itself rather than a human traitor. Watching Margaret defend Tom and Dr. Kadar from a horde of wall-crawling harnessed kids was like a Dead Space game--it looked a little silly. Ann and Tom's baby is right out of left field--where on earth did this come from? Has she been playing way too much with the alien harness remover, or has Tom's sperm been infected with alien tech? (Nicole just thought it was a REALLY bad case of post-partum depression to the point of hallucination).
Thoughts?

Re: Falling Skies Season 3 Thread (SPOILERS)
At first I thought it was a delusion but after the second time it happened I'm not so sure. Guesss we'll have to wait and see. I agree the 7 months thing was a bit stupid

I don't think the 7mth thing is stupid, it allows them to advance the plot "quickly" without getting bogged down in the details.

Re: Falling Skies Season 3 Thread (SPOILERS)
I think the child actors are the main reason for the time skips. If the story isn't moving along at the same rate as the actor is aging, the difference between the actors age and the characters age becomes a problem.
Them using the nuclear plant reinforces that the Ashvani are lacking in resources you'd expect them to have brought with them. So it's clear that they are not as powerful as they appeared to be.
Karen keeps going out to the well defended human settlement with very minimal bodyguards. That sounds like a very stupid thing to do for someone as important as the overlords are. So either they aren't as important as everyone thinks, or the Ashvani only promoted her because they don't have any better options. The Ashvani aliens were interesting enough without suddenly making Karen an Overlord

I, for one, want to know what the hell is with the freaky baby.

Probably a very good illustration of why you don't have the pregnant woman spend all day around the weird blue glowing things.

I believe I read something from TNT that referred to the new aliens as the 'Volm'. I enjoyed the episode.

Best explanation yet--Matt's is the most striking growth, so I can definitely see that. I'm just wishing for more exposition.I think the child actors are the main reason for the time skips. If the story isn't moving along at the same rate as the actor is aging, the difference between the actors age and the characters age becomes a problem.
I enjoyed last night's episode, although I feel the whole baby subplot is drawing away from some nice character development. Pope's first aid bordered on EMT-level attention to detail and problem-solving, and he continues to intrigue me. It's freaky how Ben and his friend seem the most well-adjusted on the front lines.
Does anyone else think it's weird the sniper began opening fire? I admit her orders weren't revealed, but she struck me as a scout--it seems more logical for her to report back what she observed.
