How would a Vampire Fight?

Post by Majin Gojira »

I don't know about you, but I'm of the opinion that a Vampire, when attacking someone, would act more like a big cat than anything else. Leap-pounce, bite...and throw in claw-attacks here or there for good measure when defending itself.

What do you think, how would a Vampire attack/fight?

What kind of Vampire are you referring to here? The classical sense or what?

Depends on which version of a vampire you mean. They vary greatly.

Pick one, something akin to what is shown on Movies, TV, etc.

The classical european form, if you will, or any variation thereof--no psychic vampires please

If they are like the Blood Dragon Vampires from WHFB then major damage could be dished out by them. Think of taking a hit from a lance from a horse charging at full speed and the blow is nothing more that a love tap. Then pull the lance out and decapitate your opponent then drink his blood. Don't mess with Warhammer vampires, they are very powerful.

Depends. It probably has a lot to do with the personality of the vampire in question. I thought Alucard in Hellsing was very credible; he was so arrogant that he'd absorb whatever punishment the people he was fighting could dish out, and then brutally slaughter them. Of course, that fighting "style" bit him in the ass a few times...

But your typical vampire used to be human, so I imagine they'd mostly use human fighting styles, with minor adaptions to take advantage of their great strength, speed and durability.

I think the vampire would run around like Mr. Burns and slap people. Every time he slaps someone he would say, "eh, eh..." That's what I think.

Varies immensly upon the universe in which they inhabit.

Most cases though depending on which innante powers they hold they would form combat similar to what they were and add upon what they now have(say they have Misting Ability...that alone provides a great stealth ability...etc)

The vampire from VHD: Bloodlust (forget the name at the moment) had a "cape" (wings in the shape of a cape, really) that was a living part of him, and could be used both offensively and defensively. That would be a good way vampires could attack.

White Wolf vampires, it would depend on the clan the vampire belonged to. There's possibilities from supernatural strength, speed, and toughness to mind control to sorcery to really freaky powers.

I figure the Vampires would fight like the person they were, though just stronger and faster.

Vampires from the Buffyverse are pussyfied IMHO. I know it was due to budget restraints, but finally now we are seeing how they should fight. i.e. move real fast and hit real hard. I love the way Anne Rice writes fights between vampires :D

Well, if you're going "classical" (Dracula and the general mythos) vampires are probably more likely to use physical weapons (maybe a habit from before they were turned) or just use their fists to bludgeon people or throw em around. Nothing really fancy- a vampire's main strength is not through their brute force, but their insidious nature (he's more likely to charm you and then suck you dry than run up and punch you).

A proper vampire wouldn't fight. Why would he? That's what the Thrall is for.

Or just summon a pack of wolves.

Vampires do not fight. Their only experience is in seducing young noblewomen, because for some unfathomable reason young noblewomen like tall, lanky, extremely pale men with fangs who dress like punces and have wierd eyes.

In all honesty, I think vampires would fight like regular people. Except stronger.

2 High Elves with lots of Mithril armour and blessed swords, a gypsy with a cart, 4 barrels of oil, a bag of wheat seeds (for the OCD) and a flaming arrow = 1 fucked up village of ghouls and vampire fodder and one VERY pissed off Strigoi (sp?) Vampire.

We will kill him, oh yes, we will kill him.

I love this WHFRP campaign I'm in.

That's nothing. You should see Demitri, Slayer, Dio, Nitara, and the other Vampires from Fighting games.

I see it as a quick coming out of the shadows, killing their target and dragging them into the shadows, screw giving them a chance.

Considering that the only guys Ryu is under are Gill, Urien, Akuma, Oro, and Alpha 3 Bison, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Of course, Demitri tangles with guys powerful enough to wear planets as rings...
