Arguably so, but they're kiiinda stilted and more than a little repetitive.

They don't suffer from Massive Word Processor Syndrome like David Weber's works, but it's conspicuous how his characters "do not" use contractions. And always speak very formally even under stress. And how each book is padded out with (I suspect) a double-digit number of pages reminding us how technologies described in the previous book work. And so on...
