Does Mike Wong know enough about b5 for a debate vs the 5'ers?

In a thread about Bab5 Shadows vs Galactic Empire, Mike said that he is not a B5 expert, IIRC.

I think he was being modest. He can' cite specific episodes, but he also understands the series. He is not a B5 expert, but he knows enough about the series to debate most points.

He's obviously watched the series a time or two. He isn't a hard core fiver but he knows the stuff. With all his vs. debate experience and scientific knowledge, Mike could do a good job provided he could find a few reliable information sources.

He doesn't have to be a expert at the series to debate about the science that it is based upon. For example, one does not need to know much about the history of the B5 station to discuss the practicality of a building a 5 mile long space station.

Agree with you, Dave. I think one's logical and analytical capability can sometimes be more important than detailed knowledge on particular sci-fi in question.

I bet Mike doesn't have knowledge on B5 as much as he has on SW and ST (hence his statement that he is not a B5 expert), yet he was able to make sound argument and reasonable assumption based on what he knows about B5, and that's more than enough to smack-down B5 fanboy arguments......

Besides, even if he doesn't, give him a few months and the show will be out on DVD (first season at least)

Why would you want to know? I doubt that anybody would be foolish enough side with the Earth Alliance in a war against the Empire.
