"ST: Nemesis" trailer

Post by Alferd Packer »

Has anyone seen it yet?

Looks pretty intresting. The Feds now have what appear to be 24th-century Jeeps or Humvees.

Already been talked about(By me actual thread topic title was OMG the Feddys have .... if I remeber right)

And as its already been said if you notice all the Feddy weapons are mounted to fire Back-wards thus only useful if running away

They wouldn't make it that far.

It may not seem very much, but already I've seen hardcore Trekkies make the leap from ST having a small, crappy dune buggy to having a heavily armored Federation hovertank that can down an AT-AT in one shot, etc.

Oh well.

I've seen that, too. It's kind of like how a proton torpedo can fire several shots out of one tube at once (ref. Yesterday's Enterprise), and so they must be able to fire their entire magazine in a single shot, which would easily overload an ISD's shields.

The most I've ever seen is the E-D firing 5 or 6 torpedoes at once.

But yeah, I thought the jeep thing was just cool.

Also, the new Romulan ship looks pretty badass: http://ffmedia.ign.com/startrek/image/s ... -large.jpg

It's too bad it has a fatal, easily discoverable flaw that the Enterprise and her crew will find and exploit, saving the Federation from destruction once again.

I realize that the E-D can only fire half a dozen torpedoes at once, but one Trekkie claimed to me that because the E-D can fire that many torpedoes, it must be able to fire off hundreds simultaneously.

I thought that the fact that the Dune Buggy appears to represent a step up in ST ground technology is sad, and I really don't like the look on the Scimitar that I've seen. I also think that their SFX look crappy for a movie that is based so heavily on space combat.

I've seen the trailer several times(God bless Uni supplied T1 lines) and I'm doubtful as to the merits of the whole movie. Admittedly its just ST shlock, but even this one may have hit as new low with its hackneyed "Picards evil abandoned clone out for revenge on both the Romulans and the Federation with some technobabble superweapon" plot. Add into that a retarded Data copy.......can anyone say steaming pile? I really wish we could go back to the day that ST had merit , I watched much of the Sci-Fi Channel's ST:OS Chain Reaction today , and the plots and ceverything were so much better than the BS we have had to suffer through with Voyager, DS9 and (fights the vomit) Enterprise......Anyone with me on this or am I just bitter and twisted ?

I can't say I watched the Chain Reaction but I agree with you. Star Trek just hasn't been as good since TOS and it's movies. They were about something more than political correctness and treknobabble. Or worse yet simply sucking cash out of trekkie fanboys.
