Batman prep Time?
Can anyone explain this to me... Alot of people are claiming that if batman has enough prep time that he can beat anyone. Who are the strongest guys he has beating with prep time?
Re: Batman prep Time?
Superman, the entire JLA. The thing about Batman is that he studies the weakness of his oponents (everyone has a weakness of one sort or another) and uses that to his advantage. He is a "normal" human who uses his brain in order to win. That is his advantage. With prep time he can study just about anyone and defeat them. Yes, even the likes of Superman, Vader, and Magneto.theheap wrote:Can anyone explain this to me... Alot of people are claiming that if batman has enough prep time that he can beat anyone. "If the facts are on your side, pound on the facts. If the law is on your side, pound on the law. If neither is on your side, pound on the table."
"The captain claimed our people violated a 4,000 year old treaty forbidding us to develop hyperspace technology. Extermination of our planet was the consequence. The subject did not survive interrogation."

He's taken out plenty of beings more powerful than he is but there is a point where he doesn't have a chance, and I think Doomsday is one of them. I'm also doubtful he could beat beings without inherent weaknesses, ie Superman and Kryptonite.
I don't think he's actually done anything to Superman in current continuity but in a couple of Elseworlds books and The Dark Knight Returns he's beaten Superman with Kryptonite. His plans did stop the whole JLA but I don't think they'd work if the JLA had known about them ahead of time (aware of the possibilities). So, even with planning Batman isn't going to be able to take down people way out of his power level in a straight up fight.
Probably the most impressive thing that I recall Batman doing in current continuity is defeating 3 White Martians on his own with little prep. Granted he just had to weaken them with fire but you would have thought that telepaths wouldn't have fallen into his trap.

By the pricking of my thumb,
Something wicked this way comes.
Open, locks,
Whoever knocks.

This is not true and actually the logic "X beat Y that beat Z then X will be Z does not work".
In this continuity, Batman have been able to beat superman yes. And the Green Lantern. And have been beaten by them.
Actually the fact that Comic universes have no real logic and continuity makes any argument fall in dead end and traps.
In other hand, Batman is the most inteligent member of JL, the one with biggest number of skills and resourses and he have been able to tip a serie of losses to victories. I would have no doubt that if I had to build a team to defend earth, of all DC-Marvel heroes He would have been my first pick.
But the truth and big truth is that Batman is probally the only character of DC that claims to have planes to react against all his heroes mates, which is big advantage.

Muffin is food. Food is good. I am a Muffin. I am good.
Aye and what cool plans they where. Lets see a Vibrating Bullet to give Flash Light Speed Epilectic fits. A Weaker form of Kryponite he created, one which wouldn't kill superman but would REALLY hurt him. Making the Green Lanten Blind, so he couldn't see what he was creating with his ring. Making Aquaman terrified of water... using a modified version of Scarecrows fear toxin. (and since Aquaman needs water to survive...) Shattering the Plastic person whose name I can never remember. Wonderwomen caught in an imaginary fight against an opponment she could never beat because she was her complete equal. And Lastly the Martian Manhunter turned into a living fire... How did he keep them secret from mind readers, simple Mnenomic blocks, when not working on them, or in need of them he didn't remember them it took a code word triggered by the bat computer.
Thats why the Bats is dangerous his power level comes from the mind, and why he is one of the two 'Leader's' of the DC heroe comunity.
