Spike VS Angel

It may also come with age in a Slayer. Since I'm pretty sure Buffy has lived longer than most Slayers she probably is more powerful than in earlier seasons. That's just a guess though.

If any of the villians in Buffy killed her when they could instead of horsing around, she'd be long dead.
They're all idiots, you can't blame Angel for catching the stupid syndrome when he went bad.

Let's review, shall we

S1: The Master - DIdn't kill her right away (though he did kill her) because he was trapped between dimensions
S2: Spike/Drusilla/Angelus - Spike didn't kill her because he couldn't. She beat him every time (He came close to on the Night of Saint Vigious when Vampires get an added boost of strength...Buffy was saved by her mom weilding a fire-ax!). Drusilla was too damn loopy (though she did manage to bag herself one slayer). And Angelus...wanted to destroy her emotionally before killing her - Considering that much of Buffy's strength depends on her emotional state, that isn't to bad a plan!
S3: The Mayor/Faith - The Mayor didn't want to Kill Buffy, he just wanted to ascend. Where the Mayor went, Faith followed
S4: Adam - He had to figure out his place in the world before he did anything else. throw in the fact that he was going to use Buffy in his plans to make a Cyber-Demonoid Army...and you see why he delayed killing her.
S5: Glory - To quote the red Goddess "I can't believe I fought a vampire Slayer! If I had freinds...and they found out..." Buffy was beneath her, she underestimated the Slayer...and...well...lost....eventually.
S6: The Trio - Well, they weren't out to kill her at first...only later did they try to, and one of them did what many others should have - pulled a gun on the Slayer. didn't work THAT well, but still, points for trying.
Willow - She didn't want to kill Buffy...she wanted to kill the geeks. and considering she didn't become the "Big Bad" till the last 3 episodes...

So, again, how were they stupid? and how did they horse around? I believe that this is a generalization based on other TV villains

Joss even said it himself, he hates it when a villain STAIRING RIGHT AT THE GOOD GUYS WHO DON'T SEE HIM just says "You foiled me this time...but next time..."

So, the villains are more like Scott Evil than Dr. Evil

Angel wins. He's older, Calmer, more experinced - and the chip in Apikes brain hurts whenever he hurts something with a soul, which Angel has (Well, now so does Spike, but that's another thread).

As is the discussion of Buffy's strength - her deadlift approaches 1 ton or 1.5 tons(Well, as far as I can tell...) I'll list her powers in a different thread with the best examples of her powers in them. I need to review for the best examples and stuff...so it might take a while.

1) chip lets Spike kick any demon, but not humans
2) chip let Spike hit Buffy after she was revived
2) not every demon in the show is soulless (vampires ARE, but not necessarily every kind of demon, and Spike can attack any demon)

Well I've only watched up to the episode where some supernatural being said "dude, here have a soul" and *smack* "ouch!". I think we were supposed to believe until that last moment that he was trying to get his evilness back (chip removed or whatever) while he was actually trying to get a soul to be able to love and be loved in return...

Haven't watched any eps where his chip is not working (he thought it wasn't working when he was able to hit the slayer, but it was something wrong with Buffy not the chip)

I thought this fight occurred in the context of the present. Angel has already defeated Spike in combat on his own show, and in that fight Spike jumped Angel from behind and still got beat down.

Just to clarify, I mean that Angel was not the better fighter when on Buffy. As I said, if we are talking about Spike vs Angel when on Buffy, than Spike. Spike vs Angel on Angel, than Angel.
