Yes, because it's obvious that the physics in the DBZ universe are so screwy that their so called power is grossly overrated.
Hell, in any other universe I doubt their power could light a match.

And in any case, this barrier of yours only explains Vegettoble (who no longer exists IIRC), and not everybody else who shout and scream for hours while their opponent gawks like an idiot.

And maybe you haven't noticed, but this entire scenario is HYPOTHETICAL. That means that I can say that Vegetto is still in existence if I want to. Hell, I could say that Cell is back to fight, and he's dead.

Gentlemen, both your points are invalid. This takes place while the Z fighters are on Namek at the end of saga 2. Neither cell nor vegetto is around.

In a universe where people can breathe in space (depending on the writer's whim though), talk in space, fly around, destroy planets with a finger in one episode and hardly scratch a rock with the exact same move the next and battle for hours on a planet that's supposed to explode in 5 minutes, who knows what is possible.
Their screwy physics just cannot be trusted.

That 5 minutes is just slowed down for us so that we can see it. If they didn't, then we wouldn't be able to see it. As for the talking, that happens. If you also count that what's going on on Earth and on KK's planet is at the same time, then you get about 5 minutes if you speed up the battle speeds sufficiently.

And DBZ is NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A TEXTBOOK. It's a cartoon show.

If you also count that what's going on on Earth and on KK's planet is at the same time, then you get about 5 minutes if you speed up the battle speeds sufficiently.

What happens on Namek alone takes too long.

But for the purposes of comparison, I will delve into it's wacky physics as proof that their so-called power levels are untrustworthy.

Not only can DBZ characters pump out planet killing shots, they can take them. And if you watch the Cell Saga or the fight with Dabura to name a few they move so fast they can't be seen, and at the begining of the Trunks Saga Vegeta mistakes instant transmission for super speed and passes it off like it was nothing, are you assuming Goku and Frieza just forgot about this? And that the 5 minute was exactly accurate? Fed ships cannot deal out the power to destroy a planet, nor take it. Nor can they accurately target something that moves fast enought that they can't be seen. Also, they can control the power of their shots, and it takes up ki to use these attacks. So smaller quicker attacks use less ki and are less powerful while more powerful planet killing or opponent killing shots take move ki and time to preform.

Also, this is a tiny pet pev but, there is no Level 4 Super Sayjin. It has no characteristics of SSJ. No yellow hair, and they have a tail. It is a Half-Oozaru from. They loose all emotions(instead of their minds with Oozaru), they grow hair all over there body, their hair becomes longer but not spikey, remains the same color(or turns black), and even during the transformation you see them turn into a Oozaru and then part way back(in their mind I believe) There is no SSJ4, 5 or any other of the bull shit thats been tossed around on the net as DBAF.

To add to his post, SSJ4 is from DBGT, which is not anything Akira Toriyama created.

By the way, what does Evil Jerk have against DBZ's credibility?

Actually, there is a SS4, but Toriyama( s/p?) didn't put him in. However he owns the rights to all the DBZ characters and is talking to an American company about producing a new DBZ seies that would basicallt ignore what was produced in Japan without his consint. I'll be laughing when the Japanese have to wait for translations from english

Doesn't matter if it's impossible in our universe. Warp, subspace, hyperspace, the Force, etc are all impossible in our universe, but we still accept them in their respective universes.

In Dragonball, there's a tournament fight scene shown from the perspective of the viewers. It takes place in about a fraction of a second. When asked what the fighters did, they repeated their moves in "slow" motion. That fraction of a second, it turned out, contained several lines of dialog and even a break for both of the fighters to reconsider their strategy. And these are from fighters that, in DBZ, are considered slow (Roshi (as Jackie Chun) and Krillin -- Krillin becomes much faster later in his life). So it's canon that they can speed up that much, both in actions and in speech.

It's no more impossible or stupid in DBZ as the impossible and stupid stuff done in any other fictional universe is in its respective universes.
