You know what I would like to see on this, and it is probably a little late, but more spacing between the nacells. From the different angles you have provided, I think there would be more symetry in the design if they were lined up with the furthest out point of the saucer section.

The E's were wider, and by contrast the JJprise has them really close.

I can't spread mine any wider without either making them higher than they are now (which is higher than any previous Enterprise already) or curving my pylons down, which makes them look droopy, so I had to find a happy medium.

Meh, his head is covering one of them. Could be yours.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Calm down, Fuzzy Modem. :)
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Fuck that's some nice work. I especially love the perspective shot of the ship going to warp, with the stretching of the nacelles and the star lines. Nice! The battle shot was also nice.

Submission period ended last month, winner is announced in April. I'm beginning to think that if I'd made the top 25 I'd have received an email by now.

Though I do spy another foam core board below that one, facing the wall...

Really I don't know any more or less about my chances than I did this morning, as we know there will be 25 semi-finalists and 4 finalists, and that board had 10 pictures on it.

The final round is judged by a single person. We now know that person is a CBS exec or employee. I'd always wondered. The rules don't say. Anyone care to speculate on who exactly it might be?

Good work dude, really good work. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you make it. And also note that the fans are putting out better work at this point then the franchise itself has since DS9.

Someone, somewhere came up with the idea to let the fans design the F, and probably had to sell the idea to his boss and co-workers. I can't thank that person enough, and I'm confident that their faith in us will be rewarded, regardless of who wins. There is a good pool of potential there, and everyone ought to be proud.

I thought I'd try my hand at bridging the gap between the F and the J:

Very rough of course. Just basic shapes. I might finish them a bit more in the future.

Thank you so much for reminding me of the abomination that was the Ent-J.
'Next time I let Superman take charge, just hit me. Real hard.'
'You're a princess from a society of immortal warriors. I'm a rich kid with issues. Lots of issues.'
'No. No dating for the Batman. It might cut into your brooding time.'
'Tactically we have multiple objectives. So we need to split into teams.'-'Dibs on the Amazon!'
'Hey, we both have a Martian's phone number on our speed dial. I think I deserve the benefit of the doubt.'
'You know, for a guy with like 50 different kinds of vision, you sure are blind.'

Fuzzy? I have a challenge for you, you know what you should totally do? Make a Star Trek... Star Destroyer!
Think of it! You take the fundamental 'shape' of an ISD and then layer it with all of the details and motifs of a Federation starship! You know you want to do it!
DOOO EEET!
Praying is another way of doing nothing helpful

Or, as an alternative challenge, because an ISD would just look totally wrong with warp nacelles:

Design a Federation dreadnought, they're uber-ship. Your Enterprise-F times ten. What Starfleet Command would build if they had unlimited resources.
Baltar: "I don't want to miss a moment of the last Battlestar's destruction!"
Centurion: "Sir, I really think you should look at the other Battlestar."
Baltar: "What are you babbling about other...it's impossible!"
Centurion: "No. It is a Battlestar."

Corrax Entry 7:17: So you walk eternally through the shadow realms, standing against evil where all others falter. May your thirst for retribution never quench, may the blood on your sword never dry, and may we never need you again.

Feel free to use anything in this thread as your wallpaper. I'd be honored :)

No to the Stardenterprise :p

And to cross post again:
There is at least some measure of evolution/inter-relation between iterations.

The most obvious is the "over and up" nacelle strut style adopted by the excelsior and lasting to the D, dropping slightly each generation.

The E went back to the V style, and I've shown that moving up to a level with the saucer where the J has it. It's really the only thing my F has in common with the J, which obviously has much longer struts, placing the nacelles high above the saucer.

I'm not a huge fan of the J myself, but she does make me feel better about my nacelle and strut placement, as mine are higher than any previous Enterprise, and the J's are SO MUCH higher that I'd like to think my F is the first step toward that design characteristic.

Found an F I'd never seen before-> http://www.mistletoenholly.com/store/St ... 31172.html

I like it. Looks like the NX-01 (Akira) but better. I wonder about the second set of bussard collector though.

Does anyone know more about this design, or where it came from? I'm guessing it's Hasbro exclusive, but I could be wrong.

Scuttlebutt is that the winner will be announced as part of the Engineering Report in “mid April”

While we wait, here are some new renders to look at :)

The originals are 2048x1152, and can be found here:

-as well as a few other renders not seen above:

I’m also working on a really big one (8192x2048) but I’ll keep polishing it until they announce the winner.

Just saw the Okudagram picture with the example of what the ship would look like during "saucer" separation. Another nifty little detail. :D
