Is it just me, or did the 'We want to follow you, you got to trust us' pep talk to Weaver in Episode 9 start right after Weaver had regained tactical control. And that, after a scene where they clearly showed,
1) That they did NOT trust Weaver.
2) That they certainly did not want to follow him.
I do believe that Mason was going to talk to Weaver and not hurt him, but the way this scene happened made all the band in the impromptu mutiny seem a bit hypocritical.

I don't think that line would have worked on anyone anywhere else, but in this time and place, with these characters, it worked somehow. They may or may not have totally sincere (I actually think they were) but it got Weaver to pull his head out of his ass, which is all it needed to do.MaiazuruX wrote:Is it just me, or did the 'We want to follow you, you got to trust us' pep talk to Weaver in Episode 9 start right after Weaver had regained tactical control. Then agian, was Weaver really that much in control? He had Pope, an unreliable ally to say the least, pointing a gun at the group and no other immediate support. Mason, on the other hand, had the blasting caps for the bombs it was clear that no amount of threats or force would convince him to give them up, unless Weaver was willing to threaten his kids, which would have opened a whole new can of worms. Impasse.
