As for the T3000 their calling it a Nanomachine hybrid. Instead of taking a machine and making it human they did it the opposite way. They took a human and turned it into a machine.

I didn't mind it. Arnie was definitely the star though.

The plot hole the jumped out at me first was that by not 'mating' as the T-800 says but instead hoping forward in time, they effectively skipped John's creation. They jumped forward thirty three years to almost the day Skynet takes over. Even if they hook up and have John, in terms of fighting in the resistance they've done Skynet's work for it. The whole premise of the franchise is John Connor must live! Yet Sarah willingly avoids even creating him.
