A gun was built from a surplus 16/50 barrel that could put a solid shell into LEO. That’s why Iraq's planned super gun's had to be hundreds of feet long just to reach Israel or northern Iran, a shorter barrel that didn't have multiple charges would have gotten the shells to the target, but the fuses would have been crushed.
