Clone troopers replace marines in Aliens

Can someone explain to me how an egg got on the Sulaco? Ripley foolishly wasted all her grenades on the egg-laying part of the Queen's body in Aliens- wasted most of her pulse rifle ammo on eggs that she destroyed later with her grenade bandolier anyway ... so how did the Queen manage to get an egg on the ship?

A mate of mine who has the SE of Aliens claims that the queen has two egg pouches for relocating. Apparently you see her out them down before she spears bishop.

I've seen the SE (used to have it on VHS) ... but I'm certain there was no scene of her 'outing them down' (what did you mean, actually?)- you don't even see the queen at all until after Bishop is tail-speared.

If you are going to give the Clonetroopers a lot of reinforcements and equipment, you should upgrade the number of xenomorphs. I thought the point of the thread was to have a similar number of Clonetroopers replace the Colonial Marines?

I think a good scenario would be to have a small patrol ship with Clonetroopers on it respond to the distress call. Something like a Corellian Corvette, maybe?

Oi they made many mistakes in Aliens

1 why only send a squad??they could have sent a platoon specially if these "bugs" were as nasty as Ripley said they were

Remember that Weyland-Yutani corporation basically controlled the whole operation. They were the ones who sent the marines to the colony in the first place, knowing all about the Xenomorphs and their lethality. They didn't want to rescue the colonists - they wanted a biological weapon. Eradicating the aliens didn't suit their plan.

Well I thought one or two of them may have had a satchel of claymores at least or some were in the apc and a platoon is what 35 men??? didnt they only have twelve not counting Ripley and Burke?

It is small for a platoon- but that a lieutenant was in charge and that he had a full range of NCOs under him (a sarge and 2 corporals) would indicate that it is the futuristic platoon. Small, I agree totally.

As for satchels, it's possible that the marines killed in the initial debacle were carrying them, or more likely, they didn't think they'd need to manpack such defensive measures

The transport had two drop ships, which would allow for the drop of 28-30 men which would be somthing of a platoon. It may be that it is a platoon transport, one of the books has the full specs but I dont have it, but the force that was dispatched was not fully fleshed out.
