I'm not sifting through your site, you give me exactly where it is or you have given me nothing. OR I'll just play your game:

Yeah, when it's possible.

And we already have an inuniverse answer. We know from Atlantis Rising that when old style gates connect to new style gates, you get the new wormhole effect. So if there are a handful of the new style gates in the Milky Way, that explains the wormhole effect.

You want proof that gate travel isn't instant (except for radio communications)?

Actually I don't. Maybe you're not reading my posts, what I want is proof that you can see while travelling through the wormhole. Thus making the visuals of the wormhole travel effect important in universe. If not, then you making shit up to support your even more made up theories can be firmly entrenched in your ass where you got them.

Alyeska, when have we seen the Atlantis wormhole effect on old-style gates? Did we get that when they sent the message to the SGC?

We saw it in Friday's episode, when they went to the planet where that Jaffa arms dealer was, I believe.

I can't provide them, but I am one-billion percent positive that there were Atlantis-type gate effects in this episode of SG1.

Alyeska, do you honestly expect the SG-1 editors to go back to the original graphic at some point in time to support your theory? Are you going to keep coming up with half-assed explanations whenever the show reinforces the point that it's a mere polishing up of graphics?

You've not offered an in-universe explination. I have. Its that simple.

Simply because it's an in-universe explanation doesn't mean it surpasses the need for backup. If it is entirely baseless, it doesn't even deserve mention. And this one is pretty fucking out there. Are you just going to not comment on being able to see the wormhole effect while gate travelling?

Apparently your fucking blind. I already commented on it. The travelers are aware of what is going on to them.

And apparently you're even blinder.

Did you not read the past 5 posts from me? Commenting about this "awareness" you claim? And why do you keep saying "aware" as opposed to see? And your base for this awareness? People commenting on the feeling of going through it. This is no way supports them being "aware" of anything during the actual travel.

Can you get more retarded? Stop dodging my fucking argument.

Ooo, I can talk all arrogant an' shit, too.

*ahem*

You will show me the evidence that you seemingly purport to exist on your site (At least, I think that was your intention) that dematerialized people are aware of what goes on between entering and exiting a gate. Your last (known) reply to that argument:
Alyeska wrote:Funny how you didn't counter my points on people talking about the travel itself.
Is unsatisfactory. Why? Because your evidence does not exist. I quote the "Ultimate Edition" DVD, which is the most current, right after the soldiers exit the gate.

"It wears off in a minute."

"What a rush."

"I saw a tunnel of light and stars and some glowing jewel things and stuff."

Oh wait, that last one I made up. Just like you did.

The series is told from a third person, omnipotent point of view. While we, the viewer, see the gate ride in all its glory, the characters do not. They are dematerilized (Want some screenies from the movie proving that, too?) and reconstituted. The process can be disorienting and quite "a rush."

Nothing more.

How about how whenever someone gets out of the Gate and says "Woah, what a rush"? They're experiencing something.

Get in your car, accelerate towards a telephone pole, close your eyes.

That's going to be quite a rush.

They're experiencing the gate travel, so at least some of their senses are working.

I'd say being demolecularised and turned into energy then (to your perspective) instantly appearing elsewhere after being remolecularised would be a major rush. Never is it hinted at them seeing the wormhole effect, the stars, the flashing lights and the "whoosh" sound it makes everytime you pass a bright one.

What the hell, man? You're trying to form a theory with conjecture based purely on what we know to be true about gate travel (demolecularization) instead of assumption based primarily on some effects shots and vague dialogue by gate novices. Are you mad, sir?

By definition, you're not going to perceive anything while demolecularized. You have this, you know, lack of things to perceive with.

On SGA just this week they pulled the "rematerialization crystal" out of the gate, so demolecularization seems to fit. That's the term they use in the movie, any way.
