They probably are, but remember that the Galactica has had little time to stow anything because of the constant Cylon persuit at that point. I don't think those containers were present in "Water."

Thats possible but in the pilot Tigh states that magazines 1 and 2 are full and that 3 will be filled within the hour. I doubt that Adama would allow ammo to be stacked throughout the ship if the magazines aren't full. Thats not how the military works.

But as I haven't seen "Water" yet, I will take your word for it and watch for them when it airs here, which should be Saturday.

A military that is operating an undermanned ship for five days with minimal sleep might operate a little differently. ;) Don't take my word for "Water" just yet, I'm not too certain about it.
