Do you have an evidence for your fact instead of saying it ? Provide an evidence of just say you don't have one !
And did you miss the fact that it took a while (in real space) for them to make the star go nova?
So what ?

In book one we were told that Dahaks enchanach drive would be strong enough to make a star go Nova... And they never said Dahak was in danger. Even here they didn't said a word about a planetoid being destroyed by the sun, they only tell us when the gravity of the drive reaches reaches the star and the star go nova.

Do you think a star can go instantly nova ? How long do you think ( for example ) it would take for our sun to become dark when fusion would stop instantly ( and would not start ever again ) ?

In addition to this it would be nice for you to remember that our original thread were about "one of the weakest culture ships" against "a planetoid"... and everyone said it's at least a draw... maybe the planetoid would just win.

and then you began to talk about planets and I told you that BOTH sides have planet destroying capabilites easily. Both have single shot planet/star killer weapons that travel through dimensions the other side could not see. So the planets of both sides are fucked up too.

And finally you began to behave like an troll when I told you that I have borrowed the book to someone else instead of providing a quote to support your arguments...

good luck with this thread...

"Everyone agreed it would be at least a draw"? At best the Planetoid could achieve a draw, presuming it had an objective that could be achieved before it was boxed in and destroyed.
Is there a reason you don't have 'Cult of Weber' in your sig? You're being more fanatical about this than any of the other Weber proponents.

IIRC Look to Windward clearly states that blowing up stars is a Culture-level warships' standard ability. It doesn't require special superweapons.
