We've not even seen the money shots yet. Annoying that they showed just a TV spot when I saw PotC:AWE today, you'd think the trailer released last week would be on that reel.

I expect Scorponok will be one of the first to go, but not before taking a fair few soldiers with him. Then you've got the joy of dealing with Blackout, in your base, killing all your d00dz.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if Megatron and Starscream wind up being the only living Decepticons at the end...but that's ok, because they'll get Soundwave and some more mooks for the sequel.

Most of the Autobots are actual characters who will live, of course. But I heard a rumor that Jazz gets killed by Megatron...and this is supported by several shots in the trailer of Megatron pounding the crap out of him.

Oh, and I'm led to understand that according to the prequels the Transformers do use the Ark and the Nemesis to travel between the solar system and Cybertron. They just don't land on Earth with them. They may or may not be mentioned in the film, and of course anything can happen in a sequel.

This is the guy they want to use to win over "young people?" Are they completely daft? I'd rather vote for a pile of shit than a Jesus freak social regressive.
Here's hoping that his political career goes down in flames and, hopefully, a hilarious gay sex scandal.

Now that would seriously rule. I really hope we see at least one carrier torn to shreds, why put it in the trailer otherwise? :P

They need to show a CVN and her battlegroup owned somewhere. They have shots in the trailer and I refuse to believe Bay would pass up the chance. He can even go for the jingoistic schmaltz factor like in Pearl Harbor when the ships sink.

I don't give a shit if the commanding Admiral goes down with the ship holding American flag in his hands reciting the anthem as long as we have Starscream ripping the shit out of the battle group.

Fingers crossed. It's not a credible threat if a half dozen robots from SPAAAAACE can't take on even a CVBG. They're a threat to the world remember, and the ultimate weapon we have are supercarriers. They should toast them effortlessly.

I still wish it was Chris Latta. Shame he went and, uh, died.

We needed him in Beast Wars too. The selfish jerk had his own plans I guess.

Has there been any footage with dialogue from Weaving or Cullen released yet?

Not that I know of. The Starscream excerpt is all we have, that and Cullen's little motto from Optimus at the end of the first trailer.

The Transformers all seem mute from the footage shown.

Yes. Unfortunately, Dreamworks did a fairly good job asking everyone to take it down. You might be able to scour the net and find it somewhere, though.

The clip shows Prime's head looking at Spike, saying "My name is Optimus Prime."

This is really neat, though. Welker and Cullen recording voices for the game.

I saw a couple of preview toys at Toys R Us yesterday. Optimus Prime and Starscream "protoform" mode. I guess it's the two of them before they adopt Earth forms. The robot modes look fantastic. However their alt forms look like sperm cells with wheels.

Stas Bush wrote:Does anyone know, how is the Transformers FTL functioning explained in movie? I mean, they're flying without the Ark, right? Technically that means they are all FTL-capable, which makes me kinda wonder....
Megs is independently FTL capable, and it wouldn't surprise me if Starscream was too. Megs was just out of gas when he entered the atmosphere and didn't know it was bad to stand on ice when you're low on power and really, really hot. :)

I do believe the other teams use spaceships, though. Bumblebee is the vanguard of the Autobots, and he can at least travel from Mars to Earth without assistance (well, in his little travel shell thing).

On Scorponok, he really has to be a scorpion. His only other alt-form was, well, a mobile city. That and a Cybertronian jet, like Megs, actually.

Thus including Scorponok at all was a strange decision. I bet he's drooling Energon Scorponok too and now awesome Marvel Scorponok. Poor old Micheal Bay. :)

True that. Apparently, he's supposed to reflect his Beast Wars character mroe than anything ... which would make him an absent minded scientist and inventor.

And because supercarriers were mentioned, It would have been the perfect oppurtunity to just put Tidal Wave in.

Oh man.

BRAINSTORM

I just realised why none of the trailers and advertisements so far have depicted any of the individual Transformers as talking, besides for premiere revelation purposes:

Because cinema-goers might laugh at it.

Think about it.

Considering the number of other robots in movies that speak, why would these be more foolish than any of the others? Because it's from a cartoon and they transform?

Since we know they're making a Transformers: Part Deux" already...

Personally i dont care if Soundwave is in it. I never thought he was that cool. What i'd love to see is Omega Supreme. Partly because he's so fucking awesome looking. And partly because i think the conversation between him and the others on his...lets call it odd...choice of "disguise" would be hilarious.

Prime (sarcastic): "Yes...brilliant OS. A giant fortress with a train that goes in a circle and a rocket is like...the ultimate disguise. Because they have those everywhere here and it wont stand out at all."

It wasn't really a disguise anywhere. That's why they hid him under the sand on a beach, remember?

They'd probably change him so he transformed into a space shuttle. Steal Sky-Lynx's thunder, oh yeah, he sucks. :)

It's a shame they have no intention of using combiners - not because combiners are cool or anything, but because they have a much higher level of destruction.

I figure, if in the sequel, OS will end up being a carrier or something. At least i hope. If they do something retarded like make him a H2 or some shit i walk on the movie then and there.

I want to see a gestalt or three in the supposed second movie. Most particularly, the Aerialbots.

I think it's the case in three ways:

1. Because they'd be giant computer-generated (eg, "cartoon") robots, that can talk.
2. Because of the medium of presentation in a theatrical trailer and the environment of the cinema.
3. Because movie audiences laugh at possibly almost everything in trailers.
