That would Really ironic when One thinks of the Star Wars Presequels which actually moved in the Other Direction, with a more emphasis on Politics and less and less reliance on the Said Magic Stuff.Yeah, which just shows that the writers really didn't know what worked and what didn't. Oh no, will the fanboys be mad I said that? Maybe they were going for SW-style magic stuff, and just didn't notice all people cared about was Londo being a cagey bastard and shit.

The best incarnation of the Technomages is the book trilogy. They didn't have the budget or creativity to do them right on screen. I don't even think the actors got good information on their own backstory and went with crazy old wizards, when they are basically super Shadow weapons.

Part two of the CGSociety's articles on the special effects for The Lost Tales is now out. This particular article is really essentially spoiler free if you already have seen the trailer, but gives you some awesome visuals of the Babylon 5 docking bay and the futuristic skyline glimpsed in the trailer. (The only possible spoiler is they do specify what city the scene in question is, but that isn't exactly much of a spoiler, and there is a reference to something suggested by the trailer regardless, with the obvious question remaining if it was just a vision or the like.) They actually specifically ended up using B5Tech.com to determine ship scaling for the production!
Its definitely an interesting article with specific information on approximately how many polygons were used to render certain scenes and the like.

Oh God that'll drive the Fivers nuts, claiming that therefore JMS endorses B5Tech in its entirety.Omega18 wrote:They actually specifically ended up using B5Tech.com to determine ship scaling for the production!
Too bad they didn't use Babtech. Though unfortunately it doesn't cover anywhere near as many ships.
Incidentally the teaser video from the myspace link has now been pulled, however you can still find it at this youtube link.

I've pretty much determined that this scene is basically going to be the actual start of the intro for the DVD produciton.

I'm not so sure. I've heard they've used alot of fanmade designs for the vids because the original stuff was lost, but that doesn't neccesarily mean it isnt modified or changed or whatnot.Chris OFarrell wrote: Oh God that'll drive the Fivers nuts, claiming that therefore JMS endorses B5Tech in its entirety.

You're kidding, right? This is the stuff that originated the "spell of destruction" wank and the idea that technomages tap ZPE.

The best incarnation of the Technomages is the one in an alternate universe where JMS never thought of putting them into Babylon 5 in the first place.Meest wrote:The best incarnation of the Technomages is the book trilogy.
