The Angriest Angel: granted it is only a Dogfight. But the will power of McQueen going through the surgeory, the Advanced fighter that has taken out squadrons before, and the classical music in the back ground. It does not get much better than that.

My vote goes for the battle of A Bao A Qu at the end of Mobile Suit Gundam. That last stand was simply amazing; detailed, drawn-out, and really friggin' brutal. I love it when war's hell.

Most of the space battles in Vandread kicked ass, so did the battle in Char's Counter-Attack and hell even Getter Robo had some cool ones.

The Battle of the Line was pretty damn impressive and so were the fighting scenes as Londo gives his monologue. The scene of the Olympic Corvette charging to it's death against hopeless odds is a great scene.

The Wrath of Khan and Undiscovered Country has both had absolutely kick ass spacebattles.

The Macross Plus final battle. Two prototype fighters first against each other, then against another prototype designed to be better than the two of them and the SDF-1 Macross. It's not necessarily the fighting itself, though that's good, but the plot going on during the battle.

Macross plus was pretty cool, and the times there was actual dogfighting going on in Macross 7 were pretty decent too. But I really haven't seen anything that matches the duration and intensity of Endor, with the possible exception of a few of the B5 fights.

Exactly! Damn fine duel and a good use of techno speak. Not to mention it's the last battle of the real Enterprise. Damn fine battle, ships blasting away. Characters sweating it out. That's what a space duel should be.

I didn't really care for the Endor battle. I liked all of the following more:

1. The Undisovered Country battle featuring the E-Nil vs. the cloaked BoP.

2. The Andromeda Ascendant defeating a fleet of Neitzschian ships in the episode Angel Dark, Demon Bright.

3. The Andromeda Ascendant battling the restorian destroyer in the episode D Minus Zero.

4. The nebula battle from The Wrath of Khan.

5. The final battle between the NSEA Protector and Sarris's command ship in Galaxy Quest.

6. The battle against the Borg Cube in ST:FC.

It would be great if the Battle of Sirius from Wing Commander Fleet Action were animated.

As it is, I liked the B5 one, with General Hague's ship and the Minbari at the end, which I can't remember.

I thought the beginning of Into the Fire, before the intro, was better than the rest of the episode.

TThe space battles in Gallforce are all pretty awesome. The sense of desperation really got to me. Expeccally the last battle, where a good dozen of DS-styled world/system destroyers are moving towards the battle and the girls are trying desperatly to save everyone.... Quite despressing. But good.

I think McQueen is one of the great sci-fi bad-asses of all time. It's absolutely criminal that that show was yanked after one season.

Too true. "Angriest Angel" is one of the most kickass duels ever. I only wish more people watched it.

The Final Battle at the end of Vandread Second Stage was pretty good, as well as most of the space battles in that series.

The Battle at the end of Voices of a Distant Star was unparalled in terms of sheer drama.

I'll add my vote to what Utsanomiko said (God, Final Shooting was glorious...), and also submit Char's Counterattack, particularly the final battle (well, basically the last third of the film).

For MSG, I'd also suggest the Battle of Solomon.

In Gundam 0083, the last two episodes are pretty good, especially scenes involving the RX-78GP03S Dendrobium Orchis.

And Zeta Gundam proves that mobile suits belong in space.

There are also several great fights in Martian Successor Nadesico. "Gekkigan FLARE!!!!"

I believe in a sign of Zeta.

Battle between the RDF and the Zentraedi before the Zentraedi laid waste to the planet. Other than fucking minmei it was perfect.

I'm not sure if it counts a space battle but the final battle with Sabre in Teknoman kicked ass. The other one I liked was the battle from ST:TUC, mainly for the dialogue.

Yes. I'd have to say that is my favorite space battle. It made me sweat, which is very hard for me to do while watching tv or a movie. God that was awesome.

Two main ST battles float my boat. DS9 was involved in both. One was the attempted invasion od DS9 by the Klingons and the second one was the successful attack on the same station by the Dominion fleet.
