Because it's awesome to watch people try to justify their fannishness for TW, the same way it's funny to hear comicbook fans justify their silly obsessions etc. With Orange it's most amusing because he *can't* just say 'it's crap and I like it anyway', and if you say 'lol unfounded optimism' he GETS SHIRTY instead of admitting that yes, it's unfounded optimism but he wants his pet show to improve anyway.
I watch all kinds of appallingly bad shows, and if someone says they suck, I can agree with them. Orange can't, because he's A Fan, he's a hopeless optimist, and his wild fannish speculation is always a highlight.
I'm not even sure what you're getting at with your bizarre roleplay, I'm afraid.
