They're making a new Punisher movie?

There was one comic where Punisher once killed every superhero in the Marvel universe. Every Earth-based superhero anyway. (So no he did not kill Galactus etc. But he did kill the X-men, Avengers, Magneto & co, Capt. America, spidey, juggs, hulk et al.)

Look up "Punisher kills the Marvel Universe". (An altverse comic, obviously.)

I loved that one. Spiderman was punching him full force, beating the piss out of him, because the Punisher was responsible for revealing Spiderman's secret identity. Aunt May (or was it Mary Jane?) was killed. So anyway, Spiderman picks up Punisher and is ready to toss him off a roof, when Punisher yells out something about Aunt May or something. Spiderman hesitated enough to allow Punisher to empty an Uzi in his back!

The Punisher is MkSheppard.

Why do you think Shep loves the character so much? He was designed to fulfill adolescent boys' fantasies of using guns and brute strength to become supermen. He has no vulnerabilities, no emotional weaknesses. He is what repressed misanthropic teenaged boys yearn to be.

Actually, he is more rounded than that. Although I haven't followed the comic since the relaunch, Frank Castle finally broke down emotionally toward the end of the original run. I don't know about now, but he used to be injured a lot in the older comics. And the "Punisher Armory" was just very well written. Sure, it was a "terrorist for dummies" bible, but still...

I lost interest in the comics before that happened, so I guess I'll have to plead ignorance on that one. I found the endless repetitive stories of Frank Castle's indomitable will, emotionally dead loner lifestyle, and endless quest for vengeance against nameless enemies to be about as entertaining as watching paint dry.

Unfortunatly with the new run(after relaunch miniseries) it has become Punisher vs(insert).

The good thing with the miniseries is that he had a human side, he had some inkling of emotion and knowledge of what he does and how it affected others.

Unfortunatly Soap is comic relief and that's it, he has no cast whatsoever.

SPOILERS

The first killings were in Central Park... in this alt reality, instead of his family being killed in a mafia crossfire, they were killed in the crossfire of a superhero battle involving the X-men, Avengers, and some generic invading aliens. Castle turned up to find them dead... Cyclops stepped forward saying something like "Sorry we didn't know they were there" only to have his brains blown out by the enraged Castle who snapped at that point. He also wasted Jubilee and Nighthawk at this point, before Wolverine slashed and disarmed him, he was then arrested and jailed for murder.

However, Frank was soon sprung from jail by a mysterious organisation... turns out they were all people who had been injured due to being in the proximity of superhero battles. They financed him as he transformed his life and became THE PUNISHER, determined to hunt down and kill every superpowered hero and villain on the earth.

He entered a sewer where Spidey and Venom were battling it out. He shocked both of them into unconciousness with a tazer, then shot them.

He killed the hulk by shooting him with a tranquiliser dart and then waiting until he reverted back to normal human form. When Banning woke up, he found himself staring down the barrel of Castle's 45. Bang. Dead.

He killed Dr. Doom, by pulling a disc out of the doc's armour while he [doom] was kicking his [punisher's] ass. This resulted in all of Doom's robots blowing up and his armour went kaput. Castle then grabbed a sledgehammer and beat Doom to death with it.

He then dealt with most of the mutants, putting out a false signal that attracted the X-men, Avengers, Magneto and his bunch, and a few others, to the moon, each thinking it was their enemy that put out the signal. Once they were all in one place, Punisher detonated the nuke he'd planted there (he had aquired it from the Doc's arsenal after killing him). The only X-man to survive was Wolverine, who had gone to Japan to drown his sorrows. He still had his adamantium skeleton at this point so gunfire was pretty much useless, so when punisher caught up with him they engaged in hand to hand combat, during this fight punisher managed to shove Wolvie into an electricity generator, and he was electrocuted to death.

Against captain America, punisher was out of ammo and defeated... CA stood over him and gave him a speech, then proving how he was the "Ultimate" soldier, he turned his back on him, and was promptly shot in the back of the head by a hidden gun that frank had stowed away earlier.

The last foe Punisher faced was Daredevil... having killed DD, punisher removed his mask to realise the truth... DD was Matt Murdock, who had been a childhood friend of Castle's, (you actually see this at the start of the comic in a flashback, the young Frank saving the young Matt from bullies).

Finally, Punisher blows his own brains out.

Not to be meant to seriously but neither to be thrown aside.

Punisher as he is could not accomplish half the things he did in the one shot since they know of his existence and does not have uber-fundage.

Jeez, Punisher is a "tough guy" with guns. Big freggin' deal. Real super heroes take down guys like him every day. Can anyone else see the rediculousness of him?

There's no way Captain America could lose to him. Cap is a real soldier. Punisher sucks farts out of my ass.

Uh, Punisher used to be a soldier. And he isn't just a tough guy. He's a psycho and will actually kill. That gives him an advantage against capes that won't.

Besides, it isn't a serious title.

Like neo said...really wasn't meant to be serious, just a glimpse.

That and Punisher is a capable hand to hand and has killing instinct(which I honestly wonder how the hell Cap got rid of his...he is a solider and obviously killed in WW2, so what caused him to remove it?)

Plus like I said, he had immense underground fundage and the entire story gave him at his most optimal vs the enemies at their weakest...essentially a best case scenario for Frank.

WTF happened to their Spider-sense?! And Venom was taken down with a tazer?

Doom's armor has such a stupid "off-switch"? And there is something seriously wrong with a would-be world conqueror getting blugeoned to death by some street-level thug/vigilante.

The "ultimate" soldier wouldn't be so stupid.

Nearly everyone and everything has "almost killed Wolverine". Wolverine is the guy that always almost gets killed. He has been almost killed by bad guys, grenades, falling rocks, plague, large overdoses of drugs. I think he was almost killed by choking with popcorn.

If he didn't almost get killed, he wouldn't have any chances to show off his awesome healing powers.
