Ah, thanks for the correction, the concept indeed was goofy, but some of the episodes, mostly the first season were pretty good.

Definitely. And one reason was the other really good character from that season: Prof. Victor Bergman (Barry Morse), the base's visiting physicist and one of it's designers and every inch the calm, wise scientist. I haven't started season 2 yet, but I've heard enough from Moonbase Alpha fan sites... I am braced for the worst.
With a bit more thought put into the premise, that would have been a kick-ass show. The acting styles are a little bit dated, but a remake could leave much of it intact. Dragon's Domain was awesome, and I also liked the one where the one crazed due was trying to communicate psychically with plants... forgot the name.

Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."
In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.

I'm going to suggest a few, that haven't been mentioned, just to add something new
Lando Calrissian - I thourght was a good character. Relativly small role, yet still important. With both betraying Han, and then redeeming himself, by saving him and leading the attack on the Death Star, and having faith in Han to bring the shield down.
John Conner - In both T2 and T:SCC, I like the way John is portrayed. Someone who from birth has been told, and forced to accept that the future depends on him. Sarah at least had a life before, John never did. His mom dragged him around, teaching him guns, bombs etc while shacking up with any bloke to teach him. In the T:SCC he is the best character as he is both trying to become the man he has told he is going to be, and fighting back to grab some normality before Judgement Day comes.
Sam Beckett and Al - Quantum Leap. A great partnership, played to great affect by the two actors. That despite being a hologram, Al would do anything for Sam, and in the last epsiode when Sam helped Al.
Johns - Pitch Black. The man to catch Ridick three times. A hard case, who turns from tough guy to being a junkie bastard.
Sugar Watkins - Starship Troopers.
Watkins - 'Give me the nuke'
Rico 'You trying to be a hero Watkins?'
Watkins - 'Just trying to kill some bugs sir'
Most of my favorites have been mentioned Han, Vader, Crichton, Emmett Brown but I thourght I'd throw some other names in the mix
