Well sorry but really, just kind of obvious that idea’s which show up once in real life and then are discarded and never heard from again like Gyrojet are just bad. 40K is a deliberate bastion of really bad military concepts from top to bottom. Casemate tanks, swords, clan based armies made of raised from birth psychopaths, feudal chains of command ect.. In general if it shows up there, you don't want it. Not that I don't find 40K amusing either, but the militaries are jokes and people should realize it more.

The entire premise of the 40k setting is that it's all pretty much collapsed into savagery already; on the macro scale the Imperium is only slightly less barbaric than its enemies. Hence the feudalism and all.
