A million?

There are very few technological forces in Sci-fi that if you put together a million of them wouldn't be able to defeat the SIX members of the Avengers and the NYPD.

What is the point of this thread?

Why is it assumed that the only possible force that will be fighting against the CS is the Avengers? ignoring other superheroes (for whatever reason that is) did all the other military (or pseudomilitary) forces on Earth suddenly vanish, or something?

I'm also a bit skeptical that shouting 'MDC' is an insta-win, particularily given how it has been repeatedly pointed out how abstracted (and complicated) to figure out MDC correlations actually is. The technology gives them a significant edge true, as do the numbers, but it's hardly an insta-win unless you make some very silly assumptions (EG all 1 million CS troops and all their equipment making a simultaneous assault through to EArth with only the Avengers in the way to stop them at that very moment.) Color me crazy, but I somehow think Ahriman had envisioned the scenario being a wee bit more complicated than that.

The Guada Marta incident, mostly. Twelve M.D.C. troops (Admittedly, they were Glitter Boys) slaughtered an S.D.C. army batallion of about 12,000 troops (and a town of 24,000) with the total loss of only a single suit.

To elaborate on that: Page 97 of Rifts' Mercenaries states than an M1 Abrams MBT has about 1200 SDC. That's about 12 MDC. A G-10 Glitter Boy's Boom Gun does 30 MDC on the lowest roll. Even not taking Game balance (such as it is in Rifts) into consideration, the implication is clear that a Glitter Boy can one-shot a modern tank.

By comparison, it would take the CP-40 Pulse Laser Rifle that is the standard-issue gun for CS Dead Boys a maximum of six shots (or two three-shot pulse bursts) to kill the same tank. And the armor of both Dead- and Glitter Boy would be invulnerable to anything said tank has short of the cannon.
I'm also a bit skeptical that shouting 'MDC' is an insta-win, particularily given how it has been repeatedly pointed out how abstracted (and complicated) to figure out MDC correlations actually is. Like I said, for reasons mentioned above, unless you do the "MDC turns to SDC" thing, this is a horrible mismatch.

Isn this a force sub based around the movie? In the movie all we have are the Avengers and the NYPD. If we go by 616 Marvel then its a whole different story.
