Not so. Aeryn is learning English.
How can she learn English if she can't hear it?

She is learning it, so obviously she can hear it, and recognize it as a separate language from her own.

Maybe I missed a lot of episodes where it's stated that she's learning english. Could you name an episode or quote? I've read on the website that there's a new chick who's basically immune to the microbes (or the opposite, they kinda harm her) so she has to learn everyone's language independently - they can understand her, tho.

Her name is Sikozu. Her body cannot tolerate the microbes for some reason. I can't remember if it was stated what they do to her.

Anyway, in one of the last episodes they played, Aeryn was studying a book which was presumably made for her by Crichton so she could learn English. IIRC, Chiana came in and asked her how it was going and specifically mentioned English.

Beyond that, ever since Season One they had her mangling idiomatic expressions in English, and Chricton correcting her. One of my favorites was when she referred to some other girl with the phrase, "She gives me a woody." ("Uh, you mean, 'the Willies'").

I suppose my preferred translator is a 3PO, and my perfered translator would be the translator microbes.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'
