Uh, maybe I'm missing something, but how is a lance long-range? or is the Force Lance a bit of a misnomer? Or is it a spear that zaps stuff, like a wizard's staff and those things they have in Stargate?
Anyway...
Long-Range: Lord Agni's fire wand's nice, but it's kind of inconvenient - you've got to wear that glove, and the goggles, and the tank on the back... I'd rather just just have Robocop's left arm. Unless I'm misinterpreting the unit "footpounds" (I'm treating it as pounds/(in*in), since that's the only measurement for pressure I know which uses the Ameri-lankan system), it can deliver 2.8E6 Pa of pressure (27 atm), when with the hand attachment, which can shoot his 90+round magazine pistol with three-round bursts, plus the hand can be removed and replaced with the machine gun/flamethrower/grenade launcher function (his "smoke grenades" can take out light armored vehicles with one shot). Maybe not the most powerful weapon, but it looks all scary.
Short Range: Ash's chainsaw (Army of Darkness). Barring that, a Crysknife. Don't know about its cutting properties, and it can break, but killing people with the tooth of a 400-meter long worm is just so artistic and cool.
Armor: Hmm... aesthetically, I like that armor that Longshanks has in Braveheart when he chucks the guy out the window. You know, chainmail? Maybe painted white... but that's not sci-fi. So go with Stormtrooper armor, since it's pretty hard to beat. Only can I paint it a different color?
Special Tech: Zelazny did have the best special tech, in Lord of Light. I want Yama's small metal box. Think about it: "Well now, situation I'm in sucks. I think I'll just detonate a bomb on my head and assume control of a new body somewhere else." How do you beat that?

Long range: Plasgun (Schlock Mercenary)
Short Range: Variable knife (Niven's Known Space). If that's too uber (molecule thin wire made unbreakable by surrounding it with an area of stopped time.), Space Marine Lightning Claws (40K)
Armor: Puppeteer Stasis feild (Known Space) (stops time for wearer, forming a perfectly reflective sheild around them. know to survive neutron stars, impacts at significant fractions of c (as in enough to knock pluto out of orbit), and sun sized lasers)
Special tech: Sneaksuit (Battletech) (makes you damn hard to see, with any type of E-M.)

Long Range: Farsight for going through walls, and a Blaster rifle for LOS
Short Range: 2 Dra'ni Plasma Rifles (trust me, you don't wanna mess with someone whose got one of these babies)
Armour: Krogoth (for large operations), Barrier Suit (one fitted for a male occupant)
Special Tech: 3 Tau Shield Drones

It is not well for one to trifle in the affairs of the ancient Chinese generals, for they have a tendency to send armies of tens of thousands of warriors after those who challenge them.

Have a second set of equipment....
And amazingly enough, they all come from the same books...
Longrange : Farslayer
Shortrange : Shieldbreaker
Special Tech : Sightbinder
Armor : I'll just shove Woundhealer into myself and call that good.

There is no problem to dificult for a signifigantly large enough quantity of C-4 to handle.
If you're leaving scorch marks, you aren't using a big enough gun.

Ok, here's a thought.
Long Range: ABC soldiers Sniper Rifle (When you need to do a head shot from Orbit)
Short Range: Cyberpunk enhancements (Chemeleon Skin, Ehanced Reflexes, Speed Boost, & a 40k "Kiss" although the same weapon exsists in Neuromancer-verse too.
Armour: who needs armour I was never seen (Repeat cyber skin job above, also works well in sniper work.)
Special equipment: Generic (Cyber-verse) Hole in my head, make all of this surfing so much more fun, now just have to remember to get plently of counter measure softs, just for dealing with all of the spam.

The scariest folk song lyrics are "My Boy Grew up to be just like me" from cats in the cradle by Harry Chapin
