Once again, Baltar, under the influence of Six, saved the day. Interesting.

But I like the feeling that it was not so rip-offed.Agent Fisher wrote:Oh, yeah.Grand Moff Yenchin wrote: That final scene......Saving Private Ryan
It was also good that they didn't force in the Caprica plot.
Now not only the Prez is a fundie who has no sense of State and Church, the whole Quorum also seems so.
I'm looking foward to the Grand Wake Up of Adama (whenever that episode is).

Would be nice to get the military members impression of the conflict between the Chief, Crashdown, and how it almost came to head.

Well, things are even more fraked up now. Looks like Tigh reached his breaking point in between episodes.
I guess the Cylon virus was successfully purged from Galactica's mainframe.
Was kinda spoiled about Crashdown's death, but I didn't expect Baltar to be the one to pull the trigger.
The Cylons seem to be going quite a ways to convince him killing is all humans do. He didn't seem totally sold on the idea.
No Galactica Boomer in two episodes.
Interesting that Zarek came to Roslin's defense, suggesting the Quorum member from Geminon verify the prophecy.
A nice little moment was when Duella made the "drunk" hand gesture to Gaeta in reference to Tigh's state.

This could be interesting on the political side in the next few episodes, seeing as Tigh's actions seem to be pushing Zarek and Roslin into the same corner.

I thought they did a very good job. The Chief had a disagreement with the LT., and instead of airing it in front of everyone, they took it to the side. When Baltar mouthed off about the plan, the Chief told him to suck it up and STFU! Despite what the Chief thought about the Lt., the Chief did his job as an NCO. I believe this is the first time in any Scifi media, perhaps in any media, that I have seen an Op order actually used. It was worded slightly different, but it was there. They even built a sandtable. Callie lost some cool points by breaking downand refusing to fight, but at the end of the day she is a REMF and it is actually refreshing to see the what can happen to person faced with the stress of combat. She did alright dealing with the ambush of her, the Chief and the redshirt, I mean other crewman , but broke down when she had time to think about it. The only beef I had was Crash pulling a gun on Callie, I think it could have been handled differently. If Moore doesn't have a military consultant, he is faking it pretty well.Alyeska wrote:Would be nice to get the military members impression of the conflict between the Chief, Crashdown, and how it almost came to head.
Wow, I dont think I have ever seen a show were even semi-major characters die off so quickly.
A very good episode IMO. Yeah, Tigh is really lossing it, and his wife really is a coniving snake, it'll be interesting to see how Adama pulls the situation together when he wakes up. I thought the music in this episode was especially good, like the bit after martial law was declared.

Well, my explaination. The chief is just /awesome/. My fangirl senses are going way off the charts for him. The writing of the show's just tense enough that when you see Baltar shoot Crashdown, it actually matters despite the fact that a minor character bought it. And Cally's breakdown was quite believable and I loved it. And to a lesser extent... her. Wait. I'm confused now. BSG... too good... clouding brain?Deathstalker wrote:I thought they did a very good job. Thoughts
Best episode of the new season thus far. We get:
* Saving Private Ryan: The Galactica Edition. The writing was excellent; I was convinced that they were going to kill off Chief.
* Exactly why there needs to be a sep. of church and state in any government.
* Baltar's continued development is well-earned for BSG's most fascinating character.
* No Caprica subplot.
Either way, things are looking very interesting, especially if next weel's preview is any indication.
5/5

I dont blame Callie for refusing to fight. Considering that it was her job to run and draw the fire of the three, then five Cyclons. Especially when there was a far less risky option available (the dish).

It's got action (Cobol), Political Intrigue (Tigh v. Quarum of 12), and Real science (Making the AA Missiles Beam-riders).
5/5.

I know I always feel more confident in an elected official once I've seen him frag someone.
I think Zarek went along with/supported the President because he'd rather have her than martial law. He can't find any leverage against the military bureaucracy, but he's in the Quorom.

My theory is that Caprica-Boomer (who told Helo she's pregnant) will be the mother and she'll take Starbuck's raider to Kobol and deliver the baby there for Baltar as part of the Cylon "Plan"Trytostaydead wrote:I've been out of the loop. But what is this child that Baltar's supposed to father?
Second possibility: Baltar and Six were also doing the horizontal shuffle as well. She could be the mom for all we know.

A point for Baltar...
He is many things, but having the balls to shoot Crashdown...I didn't expect that of him. Speaking of Crashdown, he was a fraking idiot and I am glad to see him properly ventilated.
Aside for Tarn, the other two deaths on Kobol weren't exactly Redshirts. Crashdown was on those missions with Boomer and Sconius (sic?) was the guy who took the fall for Tyrol. So while they weren't major characters, they had been with the series and weren't introduced during the 'breamdown'.
