As far as i know, having watched B5 quite a bit, Delen herself says at leats once and many humans make teh statement that only ONE Earth commander ever really downed a Membari ship, Sheridan, and survived. Judging from some other ships went kamikazie on the Membari fleet and took out a few ships, but obviously not enough to dent the Membari Navy as the war was clearly lost very badly by teh Battle of the Line.

On the comment on 'Follow it back to it's base' line, I always took it to mean 'The base the Ship is using' Not 'find the Earth Alliance.' Delen was in a fit of fury, she likely wanted to kill the people who ordered the ship out in the first place. The Ships direct base of operations it's entirely possible that they knew where the Earth Alliance was, but the Promethus exact base.
So heading out into deep space in that case would temporary save erm... one Base.
