edit: Using the calcs that Ender posted here, and checking then in the Nuke calculator that Mike provides I get a yeild of about 1 Teraton for the weapon. If someone would check my work/tell me if there was any dialoge that established a yeild could they please post that info?

I think the reason the Ori desperately want followers is probably closely linked to the reasons behind the Plague which annihilated the Ancient civilization.
I'm guessing the Ancients didnt go quitely into the night and significantly reduced the numbers of the Ori before both parties Ascended.

Also am I the only one awed by the fact that the SGC needs to use a multi-gigaton nuke to insure a stargate is destroyed?

Actually, the gate was *not* destroyed. It was blown off its base and was glowing dark red, but it was still active and in operation. Though I suppose one could argue that the Prior was extending his personal shield around it when he went up to it, put his hand on it, and started chanting... but even so, that's some goddamn tough shit they have in there

FYI, SG-Tech Center is working on calcs for the warhead firepower. So far it looks very impressive.

So it would seem.

Yay! Welcome back Carter
And hopefully Vala's not dead for good, she was funny
But anyways, a good episode all around, and more displays of the awsome power of the Priors and SG1.

'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

I think I know how the SGC is going to figure out how to fight the Ori. They have to capture a Prior staff and study it to reveal the technology being used.

I hope it's something raw and physical like that. If this turns out to be another B5 Vorlon/Shadow ending, I'll be rather irritated.Alyeska wrote:I think I know how the SGC is going to figure out how to fight the Ori. I'd love to see Asgard "go-nowhere" beams used against Priors.

I don't think the SGC can do it alone this time. I wouldn't be surprised if the Atlanteans finally got up off their asses and helped. And the Asgard. Hell, the Nox too. Wouldn't it be awesome to see the Ancient Alliance collaborate with the Tau'ri? It'd be far cooler than the B5 First Ones fleet.

I'm pretty sure he's the actor who played the Minbari who ran the Great machine in B5. The traitor Goa'uld wasn't "priorized", so does that mean he doesn't have any new knowledge? Don't really see how he would be that useful.Quadlok wrote:Did anyone notice that the actor playing Nereus is the same actor who played Nero Wolfe in the A&E mystery series? He was also in the Raoul Julia classic "Overdrawn at the Memory Bank."
I'm still really hoping that the Ori wanking will be broken up in some way. As it is they seem way to strong.

Well we get to see an actual Ancient Warship(or at least some type of big ship) soon in Atlantis, so it might even be posible for the SGC to recruit them.Dalton wrote:I don't think the SGC can do it alone this time. I would love for some vital plot element for SG1 to be originally gathered from SGA, rather than SG1 pulling it out of thier asses again.

Did anyone else notice that suddenly the special effects are back up to par in both atlantis and Sg-1?
Either its been the quality of my picture or they just haven;t been what they used to be in recent eps.
Best episode of the season so far, for both shows.
