As a side note...WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING?!!!
UNDEAD ANGEL FRANK?!!!!!!
Bleh leaves a worse taste in my mouth than that fiasco they call the Clone Saga.

Odd how Marvel said he could sense and control the trace metallic elements in a human's body and even in the composite weapons, suits, and armor. The Yosemite Bear wrote:At one point they sent a russian Spetnaz in a shielded suit, with a plastic gun, with plastic bullets to shoot him while he was standing over his first wife's grave in Latveria (Apparently Doom and Magneto are cousins), and Magneto was able to sense the guy because there was a blank spot in his EM sense!

Don't worry rubber...they have gone worse
and Y. Bear the odd part is that it should been his first child's grave(Anya).
I know the issue says wife...but after the many years of reading mainstream...I remember dumb stupid...asinine facts of comics, in fact his wife died in some part of Yugoslavia after she bore Pietro and Wanda under the care of the High evolutionary...in fact they remember their mother.
Sad to see Marvel not even keeping basical continuity.
As for his detection by not seeing him in his EM vision...they went into some stupifiying technobabble...how this thing was completely anti-magnetic.

Yes...most Frank Miller's works rock(except that god awful bullshit he call the Dark Knight strikes back which was nothing more than him basically saying "I get paid 12 million to write whatever I feel like!!!"...seriously he got 12 million for that)
As for me...I read more Vertigo(yeah it's DC but at least some decent work come out of it) some DH, and some DC regs(I just like it because it's fun with a tinge of uber mindlessness...but with at least a decent continuity, though I steer away from uberwankerman aka Superman...planet moving...oi)
Marvel I borrow from my friend who feels one day it might get better...I too had that delusion....10 years ago...but I had it at one time.

I recently picked up the piece of crap book The Marvel Universe Encyclopedia Vol 1. In it the discription of Ghost Rider seemed to me to have merged the Johnny Blaze and Dan Ketch versions.
The picture and powers (penance stare) are for the Dan Ketch version but the rest of the description is for Johnny Blaze, including the Zarathoras (sp?) origin. The last Ghost Rider stuff I looked at there was a Johnny Blaze running around with a hellfire shooting shotgun. Dan Ketch was Ghost Rider and Zarathoras was a totally free and flaming demon.
I heard some crap latter on where Dan Ketch was supposed to be Johnny Blaze's brother but I didn't read that directly.

6-10 years ago, Punisher would have been zapped, fried, skewered, sliced, diced, and flatten for even trying to touch Doom's. Oh the sledgehammer would have been completely useless against, Dr. Doom, back then.MKSheppard wrote:

Yep...well they have decided to turn Dan Ketch into some bizarro uber Ghost Rider, before they ended it...he was permanently Ghost Rider and somehow inherited it from his Father(?!) and yes...he is Johnny Blaze's brother.Tsyroc wrote:On that note, I have a question about your very own avatar, or at least the character he's based on.

Yep...and now they are going to ret-con(retro active continuity)Captain America!!!
Oh yeah waiting for the day we ret-con...damn who's left honestly(they did it for Spidey, Hulk, Iron Man...man they're running out originals to ret-con...maybe they'll ret-con the ret-con)
Oh and for the kicker...the Marvel Universe has only existed for 7 years...thus Petey Parker is now 26 going onto 22. No lie

Actually, that's what happened to Frank. He got overconfident and triedRubberanvil wrote:6-10 years ago, Punisher would have been zapped, fried, skewered, sliced, diced, and flatten for even trying to touch Doom's. Oh the sledgehammer would have been completely useless against, Dr. Doom, back then.
to attack doom, but Doom beat the living crap out of him and was
giving him the standard Doom Speech (TM) about how pathetic
he was before he killed Frank, and that gave frank enough time to
play his ace-in-the-hole, a electrical feedback device that blew out all
of Doom's replica androids, and shorted out Doom's armor, leaving Doom
helpless on the floor....
Frank then got a sledge and slowly worked over doom

Just add the word "subspace" and you have something a Voyager staff writer would have made.MKSheppard wrote:Actually, that's what happened to Frank. It wasn't exactly that.....I just flipped through it in a comic book store,Darth Wong wrote: Just add the word "subspace" and you have something a Voyager staff writer would have made.
but it was a very nice solution that took Doom out...
And if you ever compare Garth Ennis to a VOY staff writer again, I shall
be forced to go up to Canada and "educate you".....
Ennis is the guy that made Frank go up against an army of Midgets who
were kidnapping people and sawing their legs off at the knees to make
people into midgets, led by the midget brother of a gangster....man,
repressed anger is hella strong!

Personally I stopped reading comics because all of the continuity keeps getting fucked up. I need to get back into them now that Transformers hit. that first issue is awesome!

Cool down Shep.
My point earlier, Wong's point etc. Was that the story was severly mistreating Doom, I pointed out the basic problem, that in addition to tech, Doom has the Second highest amount of defensive magic running at all times in the whole Marvel universe.
Ennis severly limited Doom in that series, of course it was also partially humor (The whole Marvel Universe being beaten by the Punisher)
Ennis works out of Gallow's Humour for the most part.

America down in the first 2 pages of the comic?

Yes, it's funny,
Yes, it's better written then Most of the Garbage that Marvel has put out.
Like I said before there is a reason I went to the more internaly consistant Likes of Wildstorm and Darkhorse.
Fuck, Basin City is just as Hard Core as the Punishers (Alctually more if you count the full frontal in the stripper bars), and there's no capes to fuck with it. And only a few superhumans.

The Johnny Blaze version of GR was pretty cool but I really liked the Dan Ketch version. I also thought the penance stare made him perfect for movies. He's creepy and cool but his punishment fits the crime. You only get what you dished out to others.Ghost Rider wrote: Yep...well they have decided to turn Dan Ketch into some bizarro uber Ghost Rider, before they ended it...he was permanently Ghost Rider and somehow inherited it from his Father(?!) and yes...he is Johnny Blaze's brother.

Well why I liked Dan Ketch Ghostie...that and he wasn't Zarathrous made it even better. Though sadly they never went into what he really was either(mostly because they went stupid and decided tha foil lenticolor covers were more improtant...damn speculator market and Marvel being assholish enough to constantly feed into it until it nearly kills them)
I never had a problem with Blaze persay...but I really dislike how Marvel is basically using that name just so they can keep the copyright. Seriously they constantly do this with low eschelon stuff so they can go...there we've renewed it!
