Which weapon is best on a starship?

I voted 'Lasers'. However, I mean 'laser' in its' broadest possible interpretation: Any coherent-frequency photon beam, visible light or otherwise. I am fairly sure that they are more flexible than nukes, more accurate and have longer range than NPBs.

Where is the option to vote for railguns? Okay, mass drivers might be low-tech and brute force weapons, but there must be a hell of a lot of kE in even a small projectle accelerated to a substantial fraction of 'c'. I'm sure that they could do a lot of damage to unshielded hulls.
