I wonder what's to become of that diorama. Hopefully it's not broken up. Something like that would be perfect fodder for an auction.

Auction hell. Make an exhibit of it and move it between WETA (who I am guessing Made it) Bungie and Microsoft HQ. Then, maybe you can sell it at auction for the 10 year anniversary.

It shouldn't be moved, if it's as fragile as it looks...
Too bad there's no Video Games History Museum or anything like that, it'd make a great center exhibit.

They are planning on touring it around the country, although they aren't sure where exactly it would be exhibited at yet.

Am I the only one who noticed a Hunter in that diorama? I thought they were allied with the Elites.

Now the real question is whether the engine for Halo 3 will be capable of rendering even half as many troops as are depicted in that diorama.

Who got chills listening to the music? Especially in the 90-second video? I got massive goosebumps when the music suddenly shifted to major and the images that went along with it. Whoever wrote that, I'm assuming Marty O'Donnell himself, is a genius.

I'll agree with that. Hope that they release an album of the Halo 3 Soundtrack if O'Donnell does the music again.

I noticed that, too. There are two possible explanations I can think of: First, like the Grunts, the Hunters didn't all just join a single faction of the Civil War; or second, there were Seperatist forces involved in the battle that aren't focused on in the diorama walkthough, and that particular Hunter was a component of them (either it wasn't really fighting the UNSC marines, the shot is somewhat vague, or its "brother" had just been killed and it had lost its mind).

I love the diorama overall, although I'm a bit confused as to why there don't seem to be any female marines depicted there. The voice-over indicates that there were women fighting within the corps there, as is expected from the previous games and novels, but I didn't see any models or "First Person" segments depicting women.

I'm afraid it's someone with a little more talent than O'Donnell: Chopin Prelude Op. 28, No. 15.

Wow...well, that explains why it got such a strong emotional response from me.

Spoilers for the video

I have to say, I was suprised. I didn't expect someone getting bashed into a wall, and then spiked to a wall, but I loved it.

Brutal, but a excellent look at what Halo battles would look for real.

nice vid, too bad they didn't show any other covenant races then brutes though.

it's also nice that it had hectic feel of actual battle, after a while you seemed to forget that they were fighting esentially tall CGI apes

Fuck that was awesome. I wonder how it plays into the Halo 3 story, if it does at all.

Blomkamp certainly didn't pull any punches with this last one, and it really is excellently done. :)

All things considered, Halo 3's marketing campaign completely blows the previous game, or indeed any game I can think of, out of the water.

My only gripe about that was the fact it looked like the guy was wearing a wire because the way he flew to the way wasn't realistic looking.

Other than that, fantastic vid!
