They could simply have the pre-programmed course with 'sorry. The Ancients actually didn't make this one to be user friendly under the hood. It's so complex my eyes start liquifying if I even try to look at it' because honestly, in Atlantis, it's easy as pie to interface everything with a laptop. But really, they're millions of years beyond us. There's no reason we should be able to reprogram their stuff.

It wouldn't be a problem if they could give the ship some directions - via a command throne or whatever - but it still insisted on implementing its original directive of placing Stargates.

That said, the Lantean version of Holly from Red Dwarf does seem a bit amusing. "Three million years alone in deep space. I've gone a bit queer"

That's probably not the right tone though.

Why would the title have the Stargate tag attached other than continuing the franchise. It sounds like they may not have a stargate and are stuck on a spaceship. Also the last thing the show needs is more space combat.

I did to, thats how I know about it, didn't know I was indirectly following Staite's career though.
