It only makes sense if she's an actual doctor. The military doesn't give medics commisions and have them stay medics. It would have made more sense to make her a senior NCO and a PA.Base Delta Zero wrote: Apparently so. It makes some degree of sense, it's an extremely high-sensitivity top secret program... and it's not like the previous series don't have Colonels leading fireteams.

Granted O'Neill was the only Colonel in the organization as far as I could see. Most SG teams that weren't SG1 were lead by an O-4. I believe while he was SG1 leader, O'Neill was also in command of all SG teams in general and second in command of the whole operation.Base Delta Zero wrote:Apparently so. The second most senior officer there to boot? Seriously?
Does the SGC have something against enlisted personnel?
As far as the field medic goes, if she went to medical school and got her doctorate, then you get your commission as an O-3 right out of officer's school.
Being what it is, the USAF is a bit officer-heavy anyway.
Well, considering that you do have to be an officer before you can place a stick between your knees, it's understandable that the air force is officer heavy. Sure, most (if not all) of the ground support (maintenance and such) are non officers, but you also have many officers who don't fly.Darwin wrote:Being what it is, the USAF is a bit officer-heavy anyway.
