Jedi Knight? Let's see what Kyle is there.Vendetta wrote:He comes off better in Jedi Knight.Eleas wrote: It happens, and it's irritating. He's still the one to take down a guy Luke can't tangle with. He may have some witty things to say, but that doesn't IMO amount to character. And I loved Jedi Outcast, but let's face it - Kyle is just a stock action hero.
No personality... check.
Standard übertwinkie turned jedi... check.
Atrocious actor... check. That has nothing to do with the character, but irritating anyway, and naturally it spills over.
The most clichéd motivation for a hero in a long while... check.
A trusty sidekick... check.
Attempts at witticisms and banter which inevitably come off as lame and/or corny... check.
I think that's about it, yeah. I consider Jedi Knight to be a nice enough arcade game. Shame they tried to slap a story on it, though. Worse still, that they called it Star Wars. It could just as well have been called Quake II, what with the amount of character development we saw.
In my opinion, Dark Forces was good. Jedi Outcast was decent enough. Mysteries of the Sith butchered Mara, but had some good points. But Jedi Knight? Corny, lame, horrid acting and sucky saber fighting. If I still had the CD I'd watch the plastic run in my fireplace.
