But on occasion he's not quite TMWMITU when in the most recent example of him legitimately fucking up in "The Girl Who Waited", he rushed his TARDIS to that holiday planet without doing any basic research, killing his friendship with Amy and Rory in the process. And in a much older story the 4th Doctor quite coldly murdered a mad scientist with his own chemicals in "The Brain of Morbius". He's essentially a good protagonist but he can be unpredictable and don't push him into a corner...

However the series must be still doing something right when in the US NuWho is the most downloaded TV series on I-Tunes (ahead of all the other hit US shows, including Dexter).

Anyway I would've thought Tom Baker could provide his voice for the Hand of Omega (the McGuffin from "Remembrance of the Daleks") or some other Time Lord artefact.

'Secondly, I don't see why "income inequality" is a bad thing. Poverty is not an injustice. There is no such thing as causes for poverty, only causes for wealth. Poverty is not a wrong, but taking money from those who have it to equalize incomes is basically theft, which is wrong.' - Typical Randroid

'I think it's gone a little bit wrong.' - The Doctor

More of that Tom Baker being brought back as a bad guy thought.
Here is a short clip of Baker as the villainous magician in the Golden Voyage of Sinbad. He can certainly do the bad guy route.

And more. He escaped Achmed. :D
