Spoiler
Not that expect DW to stick to previously established "canon" but from what 9 says and the responses to him being found out to be a Time Lord, he couldn't of wiped out the existence of the Time Lords because people know who they are, they are all just thought to be long dead in the times that he gets figured out. However, the Nestine Consciousness in the very first episode on NDW explicitly knows the Doctor wiped out his race so the Time War couldn't have happened in our linear future unless it has time travel capabilities as well. In fact the potato head clone guys (WTF I totally can't remember their names) lament being left out of the Time War

Oh my days - that is freaking exciting!!!
Spoiler
So, we now know that Hurt definitely sits between McCann and Ecclestone. And also that McGann's Doctor was mainly hiding from the Time War bar a few bits and pieces - he clearly didn't want to be involved from the early stages.

Well that was awesome.
Spoiler
Well this should shut up anyone claiming McGann wasn't "really" the Doctor. I think it's a pity though, he came back for this one little special but wouldn't do the main event. Still, I'm just gad to see him as The Doctor one last time.

Huh? I thought he was on the record as saying he'd have been happy to do the main event for the fans. They just didn't want him.

Happy birthday, Paul McGann
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Spoiler
OhfuckohfuckohfuckohfuckohfuckOHFUCK. That took me COMPLETELY by surprise! So good to see Mcgann back, even for a little webisode. In those 6 minutes, it confirmed that he could have been an amazing Doctor, if he'd been properly given a chance (he was the best thing about that abortion of a movie, no contest).
That actually cheered me up after a shitty days work

Spoiler
there's some nice sudtle acting moments there, like when the 8th doctor says "at least I'm not a Dalek", only to get "who can tell the difference" as a reply you can see something broke inside the doctor and he wasn't the same man as before, sure it took more to truly push him over the edge but that's probably where idea for the War Doctor came from.

Spoiler
So I guess the official name for Hurt's character is now "the War Doctor."

Great to see Mcgann. I admit I loved the hell out of the TARDIS interior on the TV movie, so he wasn't the only good thing there for me.

I cracked up a bit at the meta-humor beginning "I'm a Doctor. Probably not the one you were expecting."

Speculative spoilers:
Spoiler
I wonder if this explains away the difference between Old Who regeneration and New Who style regeneration in-universe as a result of the intervention by the Sisterhood of Karn.

I also wonder if the War Doctor was part of the reason some people, like those from the Gamma Forest, use "doctor" to refer to warriors? Some echo of the Time War?

I am glad Mcgann gets his chance. It wasn't his fault the writer of the 1996 movie sucked donkey balls and should be prohibited from writing for Who, no make that any science fiction show ever. :D

Unfortunately no. If no one else can, I guess I will just have to watch the other trailer when I get back to Singapore during a stop over.

Spoiler'd just in case.
Spoiler
I have to wonder about how this mini-episode squares up with Ten's remarks in Doomsday about surviving the war by "fighting, on the front lines." when the Sisterhood's comments imply the Time War is nearly over. Will we see, or hear of Arcadia? And does this regeneration take place before or after the Master fled to Malcassairo and the end of the universe?

remember the first rule "the Doctor lies", we can't really take anything the Doctor says at face value.
Spoiler
Also it's clear that while he wasn't involved in the main fighting the 8th Doctor did something during the Time War rather then just fleeing and hiding like the Master did, so it wouldn't be suprising that the 9th and onward incarnations would consider that to be fighting, after all they're definied by what the War Doctor did.

Really getting sick of these endless spoiler boxes, but... Spoiler
I think it's clear that the Doctor spent a LONG time fighting in the Time War, one small example being The War Doctor looked at least 30-40 years younger when 8 first regenerated. That probably equates to several centuries spent fighting in Time Lord years. And I'm fairly sure that at some point the entire clusterfuck was time-locked, which I interpret as taking place outside our conventional timestream- that could easily mean it was time-locked nearish to the end and that allowed it to continue for several centuries.
Disclaimer- this was written after a few glasses of wine, so if it makes any sort of sense I'll be happy with it.

I can already foresee a couple weeks where I have to avoid the internet while waiting for my copy of the BlueRay to arrive so I don't get spoilered.

>sigh<

I keep telling myself I will not watch the trailers, I will not watch the clips... and yet I do.

Jimminy Cricket, I waited 30 years to see Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy, why can't I wait a couple weeks to see this?

You could always find a friend who have BBC America and is a fan of Doctor Who. If not, you could try your luck at one of the cinemas in Chicago. There seems to be quite a few cinemas showing it.
