Computron..You've gotta love it when the five most incredibly violent Autobots combine to form the galaxy's biggest geek :D

Plus, he was the only Geshtalt that I managed to complete.

There will never be a resolution in the evolution vs creationism debate because neither side can conclusively prove that they are right. The creationists can't prove that they're right becuase they're not, and the evolutionists can't prove that they're right because the creationists are too damn stupid to listen.

Decepticons??? it's a tie between Soundwave (the Decepticon equivalent of Waylon Smithers) and good ol' Starscream.

Autobots?? I've always liked Jazz and Bumblebee.

Jeez, Other than Optimus? Well Megatron feared Grimlock the same way Enron executives fear prison rape so I think i'll have to go with him, Kup was an old fogey but I'll bet he knows more dirty jokes than anyone else in the galaxy, along with the infamous "Bah Weep Gra Na Weep Ninny Bong." Mirage could freakin disappear and he had holograms that made ST holodecks look like Atari.

Punch/Counterpunch had the coolest transformation though. Transform from AUtobot INTO a Decepticon. That was bitchin

Soundwave was absolutely the friggin' man. Megatron was damn lucky the guy was so loyal...I think he could have stabbed Mega in the back at any time and taken over the Decepticons.

Honorable mention goes to Shockwave (now that's a friggin' gun!), Grimlock, and Blitzwing.

Good God, I almost forgot Cyclonus! He could almost match Soundwave on Cool Factor.

Completely out of scale with the rest of the range, but he was the Badass to end all Badasses.

Jetfire's problem was that his color scheme was a ripoff of Hikaru's VF-1S Valkyrie from Macross: Do You Remember Love?. Also, he had a blunt nose cone just like the Bandai VT-1 and VE-1 toys, unlike the sharp nose used in the original Takatoku 1/55th Valkyries and the early Bandais. http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toy ... bandai.htm http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/takatoku.htm

Don't you think you could have bumped a more RECENT version of this thread (namely mine which I only made a week or so ago) instead of a thread which has been rotting in obscurity for months?

And which Megatron? Please tell me not that sack of shit G1 cartoon Megatron. He couldn't lead DarkStar to a stupid conclusion let alone an army.

What, you mean Takara just nicked another model and stuck an Autobot symbol on it?

Would they ever do such a thing? ;)

Takara had nothing to do with it. Both Bandai and Hasbro bought what was left of Takatoku and later on, Hasbro decided that they needed another Autobot so they called Bandai and they started producing Jetfires using VF-1S heads on VT-1/VE-1 bodies. Jetfire is an American exclusive.

The comic version of Grimlock, kicks ass. Soundwave is also cool.

I don't really have an absolute favorite but I always liked, Optimus, Starscream and Soundwave the most overall.

I also sorta have a love/hate feeling for Hot Rod. When I first started watching the TF Movie I thought Hot Rod was the absolute shit, then he went and got Prime killed and I was pissed off. Then he went and got the Matrix and became uber Hot Rod at the end of the Movie and I thought he was cool again. Never found out what happened with him after that though.

Hasbro wanted to make a Skyfire toy (the guy Starscream found frozen) but it was another company or some other group that designed him, so they used "Jetfire" as a replacement. Still doesn't explain why they used a Valkyrie though,

Wasn't it because of this Macross lineage that Jetfire was one of the best Transformers toys ever??

Pretty much. The 1/55th scale Valkyrie toys are extremely popular and beloved. What other VF-1 toy can hit a brick wall and not break? :D

Though I loved it when Sludge gave him a taste of his own medicine in War of the Dinobots.

shockwave..

the only decepticon to really humiliate the dinobots.

once punch sent ALL of them over a cliff.. dinobots = target practice.

plus IHO probably a tad more powerful than megatron.

Favourite Transformers

Post by Biddybot »

I was little too old when the original TRANSFORMERS came out and although I loved the ideas, I found the presentation overall a tad too juvenile for my tastes and the animation and art too crude to hold my interest. But I did read Transformers fanfic! That's where I found the more adult-level stories I wanted and all the characters looked SO much better in the theatre of my mind. I most enjoyed Starscream and Megatron and their sick, twisted relationship, at least in the fics. Of the original bunch onscreen, I sort of liked the space shuttle one--Sky Lynx? He had a really snotty attitude that amused me...

BEAST WARS/BEASTIES was the first version that gave me what I wanted and thensome--loved EVERYONE in that series except Air Razor...thought she was boring, alas. Optimus, Megatron and Dinobot were special favs. Their version of Ravage actually made it into my transdimensional closet--wow! hubba hubba... I really enjoyed everything about this show and it was the first CGI animated that I ever liked, period.

BEAST MACHINES I didn't like as much overall, but did think it great to see--finally!--some really good-looking, vehicle-based Transformers. There, I loved Jetstorm for his design and goofiness, and kind of got off on Obsidian, why, I don't know. Maybe it was the voice... Anyhoo, these last two are my absolute favourite tech-type Transformers. I just plain like the guys that fly!

I haven't liked any Transformers since.

I'd have to say SkyWarp. He was the exact same toy as StarScream, but he had cooler colors (black and purple). Plus in the show he could teleport over a short distance. Very cool.

Mirage (the autobot Formula 1 car) is second, because he could cloak himself.
