So is O'Neil coming back, or is he permenently relegated to brief apparances in a handful of episodes? Ditto Hammond.
Suddenly wrenching them out of the picture seems odd. Did they abandon the SG series?
They haven't been wrenched out. O'neill has been having less and less screen time since season 7.

O'Neill really isn't part of the cast anymore. He might appear in the odd episode now or then, but just as a Special Guest Star. Same with Hammond. It's Ben Browder and Beau Bridges now, and I don't mind.

At the time I was writing it, Sci-Fi had yet to show its rerun of the episode. But you're probably right; thought the spoiler rule would be in effect.
Anyway, the Priors can be somewhat combatted now... Any guesses as to what happens when the Ori finally manage to gain a foothold in the galaxy? Will we see massive light-filled battles when the Ori Ascended fight the Alteran Ascended directly?

Unless the orii specifically attack anyone in the physical world any fighting between asgard and the orii will be undetectable to the rest of the galaxy. For the ancients to take the battle away from the orii would have to seriously break some rules and interfer directly.

The fact is that Richard Dean Anderson retired, beacuse he wants to spend more time with his faimly. The Character O'neil is playing is a three star general somewhere in the pentagon. This eposode was extermly excelent but it was more comedy and less good writing. That Battlestar Galactea eposede was the shisnit!

The black thing is probably a stylistic issue to make it clear that they're in deep shit... IIRC they also wore black at the end of Season 1 when SG-1 went through the gate to Apophis' ship.

They were actually going into a dark location, though they were dressed in black beforehand, probably because they anticipated having to infiltrate a goa'uld facility, which would make all camo they have but night camo worthless.

I'd forgotten about the dark location thing... you can't argue, though, that the literary symbolism isn't there. Not that that really matters in debate, though, seeing as symbolism is a rather subjective thing at the best of times...

Well, they were dressed before that

Sure you can. It was the only logical camo to wear.

The thing is, they saw the end of SG-1 coming around, hence they left, wearing black. Now recently, they're seeing dark times, if not the end of the whole damn galaxy, hence they wear black.
No, I'm not being entirely serious, just drawing the parallel...
With Claudia joining next season, SG1 is going to be reinvigorated. Though I think bringing back Jonas would be great too. Jonas and Daniel worked together so well.

I definately agree, This is why the writers say this show can go on much longer. They've basically just reinvented it, some people like it, some don't personally i love it.
