In the US the feed is on BBC America which is pay-TV (cable, IPTV, or satellite) only (no Over-The-Air feed).

Wow, I just assumed that PBS might have had it on. For about the millionth time, thank Thor for the ABC.

Also, over that same weekend UKTV are doing a big retrospective of a half hour special for each Doctor (except McGann) and one story from each one. Timeslot wise, DoTD is up against Revelation of the Daleks.

Between the spouse's mobility problems and lack of funds the cinema is out - it's cheaper for us to buy the thing and wait, and these days we always have more time than money. Going to Chicago means not just just the cost of tickets, but the cost of parking, which will easily double the cost, or the cost of mass transit to get there, which is similar. Besides which, the Chicago tickets sold out in less than 24 hours.

^ This.

Money issues again. I'm poor, what can I say?

PBS will have it on... in about 6-8 months (this week's episode is "Angels in Manhattan", which gives you a notion of the time delay).

I'll just have to hide under a rock until my copy arrives.

Wow McGann would have made a good Doctor based on this performance. Too bad he was never given a chance.

It would be awesome if BBC gave him another opportunity. But I doubt that will ever happen.

Three cheers for a short (staring Strax!) fixing the continuity gaff between the beginnings of "The End of Time" and "The Wedding of River Song" (the reference in both of them to Queen Elizabeth waiting for the Doctor).

They could make an episode where the Eight Doctor meets the Twelfth Doctor. Or more Eighth Doctor short stories.

Hopefully the response to Night of the Doctor is positive enough to encourage them to do it.

Another mini-episode released, "The Last Day." It can be found here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x17f1y ... shortfilms (There are probably other places it's available but this is the first one I came across).
Spoiler
Turns out Arcadia, where the Doctor fought, is another city on Gallifrey and that a single Dalek would be capable of destroying it. It also appears the Time Lords use some kind of rapid-grown clones, or at least that's how I'm interpreting the opening. It may be similar to what the humans and the Hath were using on Messaline. They do refer to "family" though, so maybe it's that looms idea rom some o the books.

Centurion: "Sir, I really think you should look at the other Battlestar."
Baltar: "What are you babbling about other...it's impossible!"
Centurion: "No. It is a Battlestar."

I did so and went "huh?" because there wasn't a google doodle.* Then I went AH-HA! and tweaked things a bit.

You have to go to Google UK to see it if you're not in the UK.

* To which I say thank goodness, because here in the US I'm getting really tired of the "JFK IS DEAD" festival. Good god, people, that was half a century ago. I know it was important but seriously, there is NOTHING else to talk about this week?

Why do I have a sneaking suspicion your going to be a right barrel of laughs tommorow? :P
Spoiler
Random thought about the Last Day: Arcadia appears to be the name of either the entirety or a section of 'Sky Trenches' - my general speculation is that its a mix of orbital and atmospheric defence platforms, which is probably what the Dalek fleet is shooting at in the trailer

I am in two minds whether to even watch tomorrow. I didn't watch any of 7B after hating the Christmas special last year.

In that situation I'd take a leaf out of Stark's book: Don't watch it if you know you probably won't like it.

Series 7 part 1 was depressingly bad, then for some reason part 2 produced 8 good to fantastic episodes out of nowhere. I don't really know why there was such a divide in quality, but it really did pick up for me after the average christmas special.

Also- I've just watched An Adventure in Time and Space, a docudrama telling the story of how the show came to be. It was very good, quite moving -Spoiler
especially the Matt Smith cameo at the end, that gave me a lump in my throat
and well acted all round. I recommend it in case anyone here missed it :)
