I think it's fairly safe to say that Baltar is NOT a Cylon. Unless the "Plan" is really, really fracked up.el blanco wrote:The major I think is either Rosylin or Baltar.

Something I just noticed, and please correct me if I am wrong...When Apollo & company walk off with Zarek, the ship in the back looks remarkably similar to the Original BSG shuttle (GAL 356).
From day one, I've always loved the connections this show has made to the original; Cylon in the museum, original theme played during the dedication ceremony, MK II vipers... and now Pyramid. Fracking sweet.

The moment I saw that shuttle I also thought much the same thing.

The new shuttle has been making more appearances as of late. I remember reading something about it a while ago. The creator basically "modernized" the original shuttle (which made an appearance in the mini as the Armistice Station shuttle).Mario1470 wrote:Something I just noticed, and please correct me if I am wrong...When Apollo & company walk off with Zarek, the ship in the back looks remarkably similar to the Original BSG shuttle (GAL 356).
And the game is supposed to be Triad. Pyramid is the poker game from the original.

Ooo, time for a ghetto edit:
For those of you who might wonder, the rules of Triad (or Pyramid according to the new show?) are fairly simple. Of course, the court is three-sided in (I think) the original and this one.

Notice how after being boarded by Cylons the Marines are all packing rifles instead of SMGs?

Something else that came to mind. There are very few NCOs for the marines and it appears they might not even have any officers or if they do very few that can't be risked.

Just a general comment to help me along in my jonesing for my episode fix- I was disappointed in the miniseries that we didn't see any of the "new" Battlestars- it was stated that Galactica was very old, hence the decomissioning, and is a low-tech ship in comparison to newer vessels- there was the wreckage of an anonymous Battlestar visible in miniseries, but it looked the same as Galactica.
Season 2 spoiler (from the infamous thread that originally had the spoiler in the title, for those who know what I'm talking about)
When we see Pegasus, I hope they make a serious effort to either make the inside of the ship look more high-tech than Galactica, or change the look of her so it's clear it's a newer type of Battlestar.

Excuse me but is anyone going to consider that perhaps, now just PERHAPS, Roslym might be actually right? Or is this just "ZOMG!!1! She's took t3h drugz!!1 And RELIGION!!"
I mean i have only seen season one, but what is so terrible about Roslyn other than, yes, she believes the prophecy. So do the Cylons appearantly, so i would think they have a point.
Again i missed the most recent eps so forgive me. I understand perhaps the chick is a bad actress and whatever but, for Christ's sakes, if you can STAND Adama and Tigh doesnt make you want to strangle him, or Zarek...ugh..., then i cant imagine what problem the considerably less assholeish Roslyn would be other than the fact that, yes she's on drugs and is religious.
Sorry but after about a billion "ROSLYN IS SO STUUPID" posts it's a question i've been wondering.

This is SD.net. We tend not to jump in on the side that is recieving visions from a combination of drugs and religion. If I was doing peyote, quoting from the Book of Revelations and claiming to be the Chosen Prophet of God; would you want me as your President?18-Till-I-Die wrote:Excuse me but is anyone going to consider that perhaps, now just PERHAPS, Roslym might be actually right? Yes.
What?
You have to admit it would be interesting.
All joking aside. She has completely lost her bloody mind, and has seen fit to interfere in a strictly military operation jeprodizing the fleet in the pusuit of what amounts to a bible story.
She is unfit to weild power in a time of crisis.

I should think it would be clear that the religious aspect of BSG isn't mere fair tales. An alarming number of pieces of the religious elements have come true.

How do you know it's a myth? Do you know spoilers the rest of us dont?
I get it, you dont like her characterization. But everyone talks with such certainty of her 'loosing her mind', i want to know what future episodes will show her cracking up and acting crazy?
Or none?
I think a lot of things about BSG. But i dont preach it with certainty, when it is not, that makes no sense. How do you know for sure she's wrong?
Again i dont know, maybe i missed an episode, or YOU'RE precognitive and can see the eps six months in advance. Maybe in Season 3 she totally cracks, who knows. Maybe i'm right and Baltar is a Cylon, maybe Tigh will turn into a Cylon Imperious Leader and fight Adama for control of the Galactica.
And i really dont mean to be as offensive as that sounds and i appologize if i insult anyone but it's just annoying the hell out of me everyone is so certain she's wrong with aboslutely no real evidence besides their own theories and opinions.

Absolutely true, but examining these events rationally and trying to interpret what is going on using logic and evidence is a far better choice than following the closest charismatic self-proclaimed prophet.Alyeska wrote:I should think it would be clear that the religious aspect of BSG isn't mere fair tales. Since this is SDNet, I have to say that Mary McDonnell is doing a good job, and the plot is well done. Look at how much people are bashing Roslyn18-Till-I-Die wrote: I understand perhaps the chick is a bad actress and whatever

Well, of course. But i'm not saying that should be teh course of action, i'm saying everyone is really putting the cart before the horse in assuming, out of hand and sans any evidence or pre-knowledge of episodes, that she is insane or wrong.Imperial Overlord wrote:Absolutely true, but examining these events rationally and trying to interpret what is going on using logic and evidence is a far better choice than following the closest charismatic self-proclaimed prophet.Alyeska wrote:I should think it would be clear that the religious aspect of BSG isn't mere fair tales. Of course speculation is fine, absolutely. Lord knows i have my own theories, i'm not stupid or saying people shouldnt talk. Just that this 'certainty' can get annoying, without any evidence i mean.
