Farscape: Peace Keeper Command Carrier (
The commercial for next weeks Farscape. Commandant Grayza orders that a COMMAND CARRIER be readied to "destroy a planet". Much as this could be extrapolated to infinity, it would SEEM to indicate that a single CC can BDZ a planet in short order. At most. This should be interesting to see.
Sì! Abbiamo un' anima! Ma è fatta di tanti piccoli robot.
Well, the CC never made it to Earth, so we don't know what Grayza meant. Let's be low-end generous and assume that they meant a BDZ (make the surface uninhabitable). That still puts the PK Command Carrier in the same firepower class as the ISD.

I did notice that and file it away in the depths of my mind for future reference.

Not nessary we have no idea how complete the BDZ would be, How long it would take, Not exactly like Earth can fight back aginst itThat still puts the PK Command Carrier in the same firepower class as the ISD.
Heck a Correlian Corvette could BDZ Earth in a few weeks if it wanted...

Yes, but no commander is going to be stupid enough to send a ship to do a job that it would take weeks to do.Mr Bean wrote:Not nessary we have no idea how complete the BDZ would be, How long it would take, Not exactly like Earth can fight back aginst itThat still puts the PK Command Carrier in the same firepower class as the ISD.

Either that or the commander is really fucking twisted and enjoys watching planets die really slowly.

The point is we have nothing other than a simple comment about it, we have no visonals no nothing besides a single scrap of dialogYes, but no commander is going to be stupid enough to send a ship to do a job that it would take weeks to do.

Yes, I will agree with you on that one. We'll have to wait and see what happens. My guess is that it will never happen, but if it does, they wouldn't have an episode span over a few weeks would they?Mr Bean wrote:The point is we have nothing other than a simple comment about it, we have no visonals no nothing besides a single scrap of dialogYes, but no commander is going to be stupid enough to send a ship to do a job that it would take weeks to do.

You haven't seen that episode yet?
Terra Firma aired on terrestrial Tv in the UK on the 6th of January.
As one of the few times we get anything before anyone else, I feel a smiley is in order
To clarify, you unfortunately don't get to see the Command Carrier in action. You do however get some interesting tidbits of information regarding the firepower of pulse pistols (one was used on a target dummy - this should enable fairly reliable yield calculation) And the acceleration capabilities of the Prowler (it flew from earth to saturn and back within a specific timeframe (I'd tell you what the timeframe was if I could remember exactly)).

Please note that the episode "Kansas" aired last night for those of us in the States so would those of you that HAVE seen next weeks episode please keep your comments to yourself? Damn scifi for splitting up the season.

In addition that is not an ISD I or II it lacks the familiar brim trench notches and has additions to its bridge tower. It also has engine baffles not present on ISDs It may be a shockwave or alligiance class.

It's actually a VicStar. It's from one of the comics.NecronLord wrote:In addition that is not an ISD I or II it lacks the familiar brim trench notches and has additions to its bridge tower. It also has engine baffles not present on ISDs It may be a shockwave or alligiance class.

Odd, as it doesn't resemble one.SirNitram wrote:It's actually a VicStar. note the lack of manuvering surfaces,

or the section on the front of the tower.
Neither are presentswtc wrote:The Victory gave rise to at least one additional subclass, the Victory-II, which has modified features to better equip it for heavy space combat. Two major structural variants of the Victory are known: one with a wedge-like attachment bracing the flank trench on each side; the other with a pair of smaller prismatic wedges flaring apart instead. Extreme as it is, this design distinction is possibily the difference marking the Victory-I from the Victory-II.
Not to mention that the Victory has brim notches (see previous images), this vessel does not.

Modified ImpStar, perhaps? When does this picture take place?

No, unfortunately they didn't. However, they made it abundantly clear that, wherever it was, was so far beyond Peacekeeper-controlled space that they couldn't even figure out where a PK agent on Moya was based on its' communications. How far is that? Your guess is as good as mine.kojikun wrote:Ben, in that episode did they mention at all how far the Uncharted Territories are from earth? Like, did Papa Crichton mention that they figured John had travelled x number of lightyears, etc?
I did love an anti-techno bit in the episode, though. John's friend, DK, is complaining that he doesn't understand the Hecht drive on John's pod. John's reply is that he only bolted the thing onto his ship. That doesn't mean that he knows what makes it work.
Ever get the impression that this is essentially the MO of the Starfleet Corps of Engineers?
