Palpatine - precognition and Force lightning.

Darkseid - strong enough to fight Superman and has eye death beams that can shoot around obstacles.

One on one, who would win?

Pretty much even... I mean they would never engage in hand to hand combat and would be basically throwing death at some insane levels given the ranges of their powers are similar(both are shown to use their powers at galactic distances).

Overall whomever hits first wins seriously since either side can kill the other.

I'd say Darkseid. Keep in mind I read little of DC (Batman and Lobo was about it), but unless I'm mistaken, or something has changed dramatically recently, unless you have a Motherbox or can move at near c speeds, you can't dodge or block the Omega Effect.

You'd need someone along the lines of Silver Surfer or Adam Warlock to be a threat to Darkseid, and Palpatine just isn't in that league. To me, Palpatine is more of a Apocalypse/Brainiac-tier being, and I don't think he could topple Darkseid.

Of course, thats just my opinion. Tear it apart as you see fit

The problem is basically who gets what off first honestly.

Darkseid is shown to have extraordinary extra sensory powers and the Omega Beams(and their effect as well) which do have extra dimensional tracking(either way Galactic level distance), But Palpatine is also shown of truly outlandish pre-cognitive ability(his arrogance was his downfall nothing about him not seeing his death more along the lines of him not accepting that might come true) and the his Force Storm abilty is more than enough to kill Darkseid.

Darksied's Parademons, his equivalent to Stormtroopers, can physically hurt Superman, for Chris' sake. What do ya think is gonna happen when they start Boom Tubing into the Death Star?

And don't let Papatine make the mistake of attacking Apokalips. There's a reason Darkseid uses Boom Tubes. Without them, Denziens of Apokalips could give Godzilla a fair fight.

One Omega Beam Later, and the Star Wars universe suddenly becomes a better place. Force Storms are nothing compared to a weapon that erases you not only from existance, but also from history. Darkseid can literally make it as if you had never been born.

Stop Bullshitting...they kill you...and if they erase from existence(please prove this one...given that Secret Origin description is that they can TRACK anywhere in time-Space and kill you)...

Then Darkseid is obviously greater being than any of DC villains because he can bring them BACK.

It's all to whomever strikes first given that I'm honestly doubting Darkseid is anything in terms of durability to what the Force Storm did DE#6.

How long does it take Palpy's Force Storms to manifest themselves? Thats one thing I don't think I've ever heard addressed. If they're instantaneous, then it is indeed an Old-West style shoot out. But if they take some time, then Darkseid can't lose.

In DE#6 virtually instananeous.

And DE#1 showed him doing over some pretty hefty distances.

Speed Blitz (see Vader vs. Superman for full description).

One blast and it's "Palpatine Who?" Omega Effect DOES retroactively erase you from history.

Bullshit...if it did that then why did Himon ask Darkseid in the Darkseid one shot short in the New Gods(the most recent)...did you just KILL her or send her away.

Yuga Khan(stronger than Darkseid) also has the same power...so why isn't Desaad obliterated from existence...since both Darkseid and Yuga have done this to him

Hell for that matter why is Orion's mother or many other said being that DarkSeid has used the Omega Effect upon...because all he can do is kill.

Literally every itneration has been either death or sending them some alternate dimension.

Unless DC has changed the rules and made Darkseid greater then the Spectre(which unless Spectre #19 is off the hook, he's nowhere near that)

I think that in the original Kirby New Gods it is stated that the Omega Effect erases you from history, but it is never shown that way. I think Darkseid was just being a bit grandious, as these gods tend to be.

New Gods said he could detroy someone from the Source...or better still Darkseid boasted of this power, but he never has used it or ever shown the ability to use it.
