I KNOW this is old, out of date and probably been debated to death but that never stopped other folks before. So here I go with my little rant.
I used to be a HUGE fan of the X-files but gave up on it around Season 5, tried to get back into it, watched it on and off for a while and then they did the whoe Mulder is abducted story and bring in the other agents so I simply stopped watching altogether. The Sci Fi channel has recently been rerunning the entire run of the X-Files and during one of their marathons I just happened to ctach the series ender. Well, I figured, let me sit down and watch it to get some closure.
I was HORRIFIED at what they had done with this once fine series. The story was AWFUL, it plodded along (half the show was a FUCKING COURTROOM drama!) and made as little sense as possible for a show that would be its last, although certainly leaving enough room for a movie or TV movies. (God save us) it didn't really answer anything that we didn't already know and it simply resolved NOTHING.
I didn't realize Scully and Mulder were noe openly lovers and that was so strange to me.
If no one cares or wants to comment I understand, but this was something that struck me after watching it and wondered how they could have gone so wrong with such a wonderful premise and show. Was anyone else as falbbergasted as me by the general AWFULNESS of that finale??

I did indeed find the finale to be piss-poor. I was just disappointed... I used to absolutely love the X-Files, and though there were some good ending episodes, the finale just killed it all.
