That's....just...wow

I've not read the Magazine, but Sec was shown in the preview, so that's presumably not him. Much more likely to be a hybrid-clone made by the cult.Stark wrote:I'm just curious exactly why Sec decides to take a human body. He's got a Time War tank, does he really need a suit that bad?
Erm ... sort of:Is this in line with other times that unarmoured Daleks are shown?

It's (part) Dalek. It's supposed to be ugly as sin. That's the only constant about dalek appearance.Big Orange wrote:Ugh! What an ugly mouth, hideous chin and it's head tenticles look like fucking dildos!![]()
Are they going to be showing that at 07.00 PM...
Why? Sure, it looks a bit lame there. But that's 1- because it's not moving and 2 - because it's in a well illuminated closeup, relatively dry, and 3- because it's not speaking.petesampras wrote:I have a uneasy feeling that one of the coolest creatures in sci-fi are about to be permanently ruined....
Perhaps next week's episode features the Dalek's being kidnapped by President Amadinejad and only being released when given a goodybag and a natty suit.Dartzap wrote:Radiotimes cover
That's....just...wowI know I'm going to run screaming for the hills when that appears. The suit I mean, not the ..head...
It's not the specific appearance, it's the fundamental change to the Daleks and what makes them so cool (in my opinion). What I found cool about the Daleks was that externally they were these utterly un-lifelike robots, but inside you knew was this squidy being that was the true Dalek. This completely organic humanoid Dalek may spoil their enigma. Up until now the Daleks organic form has been mainly hidden, only shown occasionally. Seeing an humanoid Dalek for a large part of the show and this being a possible recurring theme, may make the Daleks just another monster of the week.NecronLord wrote:Why? We saw the Emperor dalek swimming around in his goldfish bowl all through The Parting of the Ways and they're not ruined yet.petesampras wrote:It's not the specific appearance, it's the fundamental change to the Daleks and what makes them so cool (in my opinion). Well, the Fishbowl was in the middle of his bigass unfolding Dalek-Body...NecronLord wrote:We saw the Emperor dalek swimming around in his goldfish bowl all through The Parting of the Ways and they're not ruined yet.
It's certainly likely to be different. They appear to have human jaws and presumaby mouths.Yuri2356 wrote:I'm wondering what they'll do for the voice of the hybrid. The Classic Dalek-Voice is an in-universe sythiziser, with the dalek itself only able to make a sort of odd squeeking noise. I hope that can give it that constantly-pissed-off-ness that you get from a standard Dalek, without making it all cheesey.
The humanoids were just humans being paid. Human dead were used in Revalation (IIRC) of the Daleks by davros. The 'human factor' was added to Daleks in Evil of the Daleks.SylasGaunt wrote:Also correct me if I'm wrong but haven't the Daleks pulled similar stuff like this before? I seem to recall one instance of humanoid dalek agents jailbreaking Davros and one instance of human brains plugged into Dalek battle armor. Plus the human-based Daleks two seasons back.
This is why you need proper British gentlemen for your horrible affronts against God. If you go budget, well. Look at what you get.Patrick Degan wrote:Meh... That suit doesn't do a thing for him. Not his colours at all. Some horrible hybridised alien freaks simply have no sense of style to speak of.
