The voice can be ignored or blocked IIRC. The Jedi mind trick works on most weak-minded people and you dont realise its happened or is happening.

The Voice can be blocked on using damping techinques but aside from that it takes adept training to be able to resist it.

The Jedi mind trick however doesn't work on strong willed individuals.

so earplugs dont work? well that sucks. LOL

and the mindtrick also doesnt work on aliens with extremely different thought processes. But we havent really seen any of those in Dune (i dont think) unless you count the mutations caused by spice. Navigators might qualify as incredibly different.

It's also a function of the jedi's skill, strength and training. It's harding to do on an alien with a different thought process but not impossible.

And given what it takes to be a proper Navigator I doubt the Jedi Mind Trick would work.

The whole trick to voice is knowing the psychological make-up of your intended victim, and knowing the exact pitch and tone to use on any given individual. Not having an alien mind and background would make it next to impossible.

A Jedi/BG would not need to use a Saber. The can litterally take a guys head off with a sharpened Big Toe. It's been done. Ok add in the Jedi morals then they could just use a less devistating kick and paralise the vict... un i mean perpatrator.
