Looks pretty good but I am going to get annoyed if every I dont see humans on ocassion getting kills.

I want to see a Predator going down to human weapons and not just some Arnie super solder. I dont care how good you are eventually you get shot from behind or lose out to numbers.

Make the Preds tough but dont make them L33T make me puke foes.

Oh and one other thought. When I saw all the "pretty" people in their late teens early twenties I had to cringe.

Made me think of bad Freddy movies.

Looks a hell of a lot better than the first AvP movie... Hopefully it will live up to my expectations. It shouldn't be difficult, as I'm not setting them very high.

As it is, this looks to have almost everything I wanted from the first movie and didn't get.

AGREED!

I want to see well armed humans against them! Thats what made Predator (first one) and Aliens (number 2) so freakin cool. Professional military units who know how to fight! Not some camping expedition, or in an unarmed prison, or an unprepared ice climbing adventures. A bum could slaughter half these people with a gun!

No if the baddies are taking on Marines, SEAL's, Rangers ect... ect.... that are armed, it makes it so much more intresting.

Well, looks like it'll at least deliver in terms of violence.

Plus I never knew the MPAA screens for restricted trailers were red...

Ghetto Edit: And if this film proves successful enough to warrant a second sequel: Fox, please throw us a bone and set it in space. That way we can see the Colonial Marines in action again for the first time in more than twenty years.

That's really my only problem with this - why couldn't they have the exact same thing happen in the future, say, between Alien 3 and Resurrection? It'd be more exciting. But I'm glad to see that at least this one is going to be properly violent again. And no matter how poorly it's reviewed, I know I'm going to go see it anyway, I'm just pathetic that way.

Clearly it's because it's cheaper to have people running around the studio backlots than to build any kind of space setting.

That's very true. And to think that James Cameron could have directed AvP, but they gave it to Paul W. S. Anderson because his budget was smaller. :x

Um, why does it appear that the Predator is wantonly killing unarmed humans? Doesn't that go against their whole thing with hunting dangerous prey?

While the trailer looks better than AvP, I gotta say it feels too much like a slasher flick that happens to have Aliens and Predators doing the goring instead of Jason or Freddy.

If things are getting out of control then the rules might change. The "unarmed" humans may in fact already be infested with alien spawn. Once there are enough aliens running around the Preds may change the rules and "allow" themselves to kill off infected humans before then burst.

Or they don't take the Predator 'rules' as seriously as fans. Oh wait, I forgot the novels made them samurai!

If you wanted to have it set on Earth, but still face soldiers, you could have some Ranger unit or something get cut off in Afghanistan or Iraq (cause they like the heat) and get hunted by a predator or something.

That should be cheaper than space, but still provide the action of guys kind of like the colonial marines.

Or you can have the aliens and predators fight it out with people that stepped out of a salon in LA.

The one thing that seriously pisses me off is the way these movies always play as a slaughterfest of the humans. There are much better ways to make a sci-fi action flick, or even a sci-fi horror-action film.

Unlikely since it is indicated that Ripley killed off the last "naturals" in Alien 3, given the ~200 year difference between 3 and 4 who's to argue with the General's statement?

It'd make more sense to have AVP2 set shortly before 'Alien'. How did Weyland-Yutani find out about the contents of the crashed alien ship?

Looked ok and the return of the gore is definetly a plus. Judging from some of the scenes it looks like the Predators might seriously go all out which should be fun.

I have to agree with one of the comments made on that video though, I get the feeling that trailer is showing a considerable amount of the kill action which spoils it completely. At the very least its blown some of the plot away with the references to the army.
Sounds like its going to end up like Resident Evil 2 with a race against the clock to get out of the area before the military nukes the place.

The effects definetly seem to have improved and with the film moving back towards the Alien / Predator style carnage it might actually live up to being a proper movie. Although, it would be nice to see humans and the army being rendered properly rather than dumb ass redshirts for slaughter.

Set in modern times, set for suck.

Let me write you a script, Fox, and I will deliver you something worthy of the Alien franchise name.

I'd weep for the Predator actors if they had to film in the desert heat. It's probably freakin' hawt in those Zoot suits.

Well, just go back and get Jean Claude Van Damme. At this point, I'd think he'd jump at the chance to get back to theatricals and get out of DTV hell. :D

I'd like to say the trailer was decent, but honestly the whole thing was marred by the most stupid and cliched tag line ever.

Seriously, "In space, no one can hear you scream. On Earth, it won't matter." What the fuck's up with that? They might as well have had "It was a dark and stormy night....". It's about as original.

And to think, someone got PAID to come up with this shit. Fuck, I now want to work in an Hollywood marketing department. Easiest job ever

Sorry, stupid ruin under antarctica is FAR stupider than 'mountains shielded the ship full of eggs'. The Alien4 humans were so utterly incompetent and ignorant I think anything they say can be ignored, even if we're NOT dealing with a need for a flimsy explanation for a sequel that only has to make 'Hollywood sense'.

They were sent to investigate a signal. This kinda suggests they'd already recieved it, before they put the Ash robot aboard and sent the Nostromo on her mining run.
