the other battle of the line thread got me thinking how would Federation tech fare in a similar situation?
in addition to the EA defense, our old friens Q decides to drop starbase 74 and it's compliment of support craft into earth orbit during the course of the war, a few weeks prior to the battle of the line. Seeing that there is no way back to their timeline, the Feddies decide that they might as well lend a hand defending Earth. For the sake of argument lets say the base holds 3 Frigates (Sabre) and a destroyer (Steamrunner) a Defiant and a few dozen shuttles, runabouts and perigines. what effect does this have?
