Has Megas XLR ever been seen in Japan?

Post by Crossroads Inc. »

Seriouslly, it lampoons and paraodies every last Anime genera in the book. It makes referances to everything from Macross, Starblazers, Captain Harlock Transformers and a variety of 'Magical Girl' shows... And all I can think of is "wouldn't they get a Kick out of this over seas?"

But in all hounesty, how often do American shows, if ever, get over to Japan, sure it always goes in reverse, but is there even a Chance Megas would ever be Seen in Japan?

I have no idea. Although currently, Avatar and the Boondocks are being aired in Japan. Dunno how well they're doing, though.

Hmm, when I was in Japan I only had a few channels, about five if I remember correctly, but I did see a few American cartoon shows. The ones that stick out in my mind are Beast Wars and Ninja Turtles. Cartoon Network exists in Japan, even though I didn't have it, and from what I understand has shown various CN shows like Dexter's Lab and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. In terms of older stuff, everyone there knows about Looney Tunes and the Disney characters. Snoopy also has a huge following in Japan. It's scary.

If not, it should. Megas XLR is awesome stuff. :)

There have been some Japanese people on 4chan /m/ board who have said something to the effect that America should be proud of Megas XLR because it is America's super robot.

I really wish we had something other than Megas to be proud of. That show was terrible.

There's a lot of anime that parodies other anime, with classics like Excel Saga and such.
I think one that comes from America would be fascinating.

Not to mention that Megas XLR is badass in itself.

Yeah, you should be!
