Uchu no Senshi...

Post by The Dark »

Have any of the anime freaks on this board seen this one? It's supposed to be based on Heinlein's Starship Troopers, and I actually have seen models of one of the suits. If anyone's seen it, is it worth trying to find?

I have not heard of it.
Animenfo.com turns up nothing.
http://www.bestanime.com/topFrame.php?mCode=0 turns up a Starship Troopers cartoon, but it was made in America.
I am capable of rearranging the fundamental building blocks of the universe in under six seconds. I shelve physics texts under "Fiction" in my personal library! I am grasping the reigns of the universe's carriage, and every morning get up and shout "Giddy up, boy!" You may never grasp the complexities of what I do, but at least have the courtesy to feign something other than slack-jawed oblivion in my presence. I, sir, am a wizard, and I break more natural laws before breakfast than of which you are even aware!

Ah, thanks, found it on Google by using the American title along with Studio Nue's name. Released in 1988 as six episodes on three VHS tapes, 12,800 yen each. A website about the toys released by Studio Nue refers to it as Uchuu no Senshi...not sure what difference the extra u makes (I found the title I posted originally on a website about Heinlein and movies based off his books).

<lecture> The extra "u" is there in the original title, but for aesthetic reasons (and easier pronunciation for Americans), extended vowels are sometimes cut out of Japanese that's been Romanized. </lecture> This always gives me a headache on web searches, as I have to run every variation on the extended vowels there is to get what I want sometimes.
